Manifolds.

Hi guys,

Which type of manifold is better..Conical or Non-Conical?

helivaguy 08-23-2010 05:22 PM

from what i have learned....
conical = different diameter at each opening, more power which uses more fuel.
non conical =standard, better fuel economy and less power.

Running-in procedure

This is most probably a well worn topic by now, but I keen to here from anyone regarding the best way to run-in a Nova Flash .12. I would normally give the car two tanks on the bench using 15% castor no nitro and then run the car on the track with a rich setting for about 6 tanks then start leaning it out. By about tank 10 I would switch to race blend fuel and continue till race tune is reached.
One of our most experienced races prefers to do 1 tank on the bench ( race blend fuel) then tune the car just off race settings and run for approx 10 mins using the throttle to hold the engine back ( rather than a rich setting). After that it's tune to race settings and drive the car.
What procedure are you guy's using out there, that gives a well run-in engine, good power and longevity.

i run on a fairly small/mid track, which one do you think is best suited?

Can anibody tell me what's the technicall difference between the .12 Flash and 353 .12/C Tuned? Which motor is the top runner of Novarossi? Maybe the 353? It has better characteristics on Novarossi homepage!?

Regards, Lojz
