Ehm.... yes......
I have read somewhere the coating is a reinforcement of the crankcase but I doubt it will make the case stronger. But you will never know what the teamdrivers are using, maybe their cases are from a different matirial.

Once I swapped the internals from a JP Eagle over to a crankcase of a 35+ due some problems and I did not notice a difference in performance.

Hi Guys
Can anyone explain why the 353 comes with 2 low end needles. ships with a short one and a longer one in the packet of bits. Under what conditions would each be used.

Thanks heaps

Peter

I have never run a 353 because I am a 1/8 guy but years ago Picco had an engine with 2 needles and 2 seats. The short needle was fatter and delivered big power but it was very abrupt. The long needle had a smaller diameter was smoother and easier to drive.

On high traction tracks the short fat needle was the hot ticket and on low traction the longer thin needle was best.

Hopes this helps.

Lee

The coating that is on most of the black or gray crankcases is a hard coating and it changes the actual Rockwell rating for the hardness of the material used in the crank case. Rockwell is a measurement used to rate the hardness of materials. So the case will usually display signs of more rigidness and less flex.

Hey.. what would be the best pipe to run with a Novarossi 359 RACE .21

Boz 08-02-2009 10:08 PM

conical or non conical

What are the differences in performance of these manifolds for 1/8th on-road

41016 (med conical) and 41023 (med non conical)

conical = more power more fuel
non conical = better fuel economy and less power.

but with what you are getting in power wise, could be a good trade off to try the non conical :D or if thats what you are using now, then try my Conical next meet ;) drifter garanteed hahaha

MMMMMMM... power

Does anyone know the reason for the new case on the 353 '09, from the pictures posted all the top Novarossi guys were running with a grey case instead of the black that sells.

Or is it another 353 '09 to come with the original Purple head ?

353 '08 / '09 conrods

Can anybody tell me the difference between the 353 2008 & 353 2009 conrods?
They have different part numbers (NOV07602 for '08 and NOV07604 for '09).
Are they interchangeable?
Thank you

just want to verify that the Plus 12- 3SCT and the 353 '09 use the same con rod? I need to replace them and wanted to be sure before I order it!

They do not use the same con rod. The rods have different part numbers anyway. 07601 for the SCT and 07604 for the 353 '09
