I tried the 12-5CT today. It wasnt run in properly but you can see it was a real beast. I was using 16% nitro but I think when its run in and with 25% it will be pretty awsome. I will have to see how it compares to the Murnan CRF

;)

Questions related to the Novarossi N12LL5 engine...

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum, I hope this is the right thread for the questions I have. I have two questions related to the Novarossi N12LL5 engine (the "Tuned" version):

1) Does anyone have the manual for this particular engine (not the exploded-view document, this I have downloaded it from Novarossi's website)? If yes, would it be possible for me to obtain a scanned version of the manual (in PDF format perhaps)? Thanks.

2) For a 25% nitro, what should be the factory standard shim thickness under the N12LL5 head?

Help/answers to the above two questions are much appreciated. Thank you.

Warmest regards,
C Y Poh

For 25% you will need to add .10 shim and you should be fine.

hi cy,

if i remember correctly, the correct shimming should be around 0.4mm. (0.3mm+0.1mm).

by the way, where did you managed to buy this engine from ? thanks...

I've done a couple searches and turned up nothing. Does anyone know where to get parts for a Top 21 BF? All I need is the rod bushing and whatever holds it in place. Mine came apart at my last race, and that seems to be the only damage. Is it the same size as in other rossi motors?

@all

which plug do you normally use on the .12 Plus-3 Novarossi engine?

Same here...I use the #7 plug. I used the #5 plug that came with the engine when I was breaking it in... :D
