I'm running a murnan plus 12 and noticed something funny yesterday. I have a brand new fuel tank and the motor hasn't seen a full race yet but I did the swauger break-in and have run maybe a gallon through it with break-in and practice.

What I noticed was when the engine got up to temp. (about 250F), I was seeing bubbles coming up through the fuel line off the tank. There is still a lot of fuel in there and it's a new tank and new line so i'm guessing no leaks. The engine didn't like the bubbles at all. Would not keep a steady idle (of course) every time a bubble went into the carb. So, I purchased one of those funky Orion pressure devices because the local hobby shop was out of Mugen pressure chambers. My question is, do you think this will fix the problem? Orion claims that it will but I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if this fixed it for you? Thanks for the help.

how are the 821B engines by novarossi?

Why are you trying to get the temp under 120C?

We've run the engines up to 135 - 145C to get maximum performance. As long as you have a little smoke, you should be okay. Also check the plug after your run. If you have a thin bead of wetness around the outside lip, you're okay. It's probably filthy wet at 120.

Hi guys!

One of my motors is the Collari (1) version of the Nova 35 plus 21 mill. Whatever I do, I can not get the temperature below 120 deg. C. A little bit richer on the HSN needle and the car wont even go into second gear. The motor smokes like a steam train, which is telling me that it is still to rich. Performance is close to other engines on the track, even that rich. Piston/sleeve contact area is smooth with no scratches and compression is very high (hard to turn flywheel over hot and cold). Standard head gap with 0,7mm shim stack. 25% Nitro, Orcan/Serpent fuel (Jonker Netherlands).

I know how to tune an engine, and I ran other engines leaner with temps around 110 deg. C, so I think the Collari "likes" or needs higher temperatures.

Any thoughts or advise on this?

Many thanks in advance!

Regards Stefan

Nova temp

Thanks a lot for the reply rjr, much appreciated.

The thing is that most of the drivers at the european tracks see 120 deg. C. as a maximum, and I have some fellow drivers running their R&B's with 100 deg. C with minimal smoke and good performance (all temps taken with my IR gun).
But the Novarossi mills seem to like higher temps. My old 35plus21 (RIP) was also running at approx 120 deg. C.

I think the high temps add to the short lifespan some of my engines had in the past...

Do os p6 p7 turbo plugs work on the novarossi plus 12 3ct? i have a few of these old plugs that i wanna use to run in in the engine if possible?

thanks!

I would not reccomend OS plugs in a Nova or vice versa. The taper is slightly different. It may work but you could have a leak and distort the taper in the head.

Pipes NovaRossi 2630 vs MAX power 2602

I started out with the Max Power 2602. The track I run at has a large straight. I wanted to get as much speed so I switched over to the 2630. After my engine's hot, if I did not top off right before our 5 minute start I would run out of fuel.

The Max 2602 gave me a lot more bottom end, with a decent top end. With a much longer run time (1 minute longer at least).

I'm going to use the Max 2602.

Running NovaRossi SCT 12 Plus with 20% fuel shimmed with .3mm + .1mm = .4mm.

QUESTION: We have some pretty competitive racing here, if I run 25% or 30% would I see higher top end speeds? With 20% I can get my clutch adjusted enough that it has to much acceleration, but now I'm concerned about the top end. I will work on gearing but though it might be my 20% me vs 30% everyone else.

Hello everyone, I wanted to see if anyone can help me with my Novarossi 353 tune engine. It engine comes with a head shim size 0.30mm and Im using 30%fuel, I wanted to see if I should shim the engine more or leave it the way it is.:flaming:

More nitro will give you more torque, not rpm.

You could add another 0.1mm shim for a bit more revs or just gear up a tooth on your second gear.

Stick with the 2602 pipe, it's much more consistent than the 2630

More nitro will make the car faster in acceleration and so in the end of the straight it can give 1 or 2 mph extra but indeed not much.

That's what most people call torque!
