I don't see those piston holes on the official novarossi site...
I do see "by-pass" ports, which I thought is not allowed  .....

seems legal enough compared to orion

I have the engine. The engine does not come with any holes in the piston. The crankshaft is NOT weighted. I noticed they took all the pics of the engine off of their website as soon as the engine hit the USA. I know of several people that purchased the engine and were dissapointed to see a completely different engine than what was on the Novarossi website. The practice engine looks like a standard plug Novarossi RS12 from a several years back with an updated piston/sleeve/rod, and the crankshaft is 11.5mm. Certainly not as fast as the newer Novarossi engines. I am sure someone will post how the practice engine runs soon enough. I will be testing the engine soon.

Hopefully the offroad 367 engine isn't the bait and switch, mine will be here next monday.

At least the offroad engine comes with questionably useful extras, the right pipe (no header?) 5 glow plugs and extra bearings which could easily be 150 worth of stuff.

It's rough to hear that the practice engine sucks so bad though, not even remotely comparable with a standard OS tz?

Practice engine....

If You practice, would you practice with your fastest engine, or with a much slower engine?....
My experience tells me that I would like to practice with an engine I would run races with also, or atleast an engine with the same performance, otherwise practice is useless....
So the second engine is useless...

just my 2 cents....

hi grinder i have also see the pics with the balanced weight in cranckshaft,
this is the reason that i buy the engine.
i will write do novarossi, to get the right engine,
