Whats the difference between Novarossi short and long body glow plugs in the same heat range?

The numbers and characters on the plugs, are the product number, wire thickness, and thermal range of the plug’s body. Example: The Novarossi C6TG (F) or (C)
Product: C (Conical)
Wire Thickness: 6
Plug Type: T (Turbo)
Plated: G (Gold)
Thermal Range: F (Fredda = Cold) C (Calda = Hot)

The plugs with cold thermal range F (Fredda), have a body with thinner walls and shorter body, so they dissipate heat better and faster to the engine head. The plugs with hot thermal range C (Calda), have a body with thicker walls and longer body, so they dissipate heat better and faster to the engine head. The number of threads is the same on both types of plugs.

How to select the proper plug:
•When the ambient temperature is high, we have to use a plug with thicker wire.
•With higher compression, we have to use a plug with thicker wire.
•Humidity determines if we use a Cold (F) thermal range, or Hot (C) thermal range.
•With high humidity percentage we should use a Hot (C) thermal range plug.
•If we have high temperature and high humidity, we should use a plug with thick wire and a Hot(C) thermal range.

The best instrument to determine which Turbo Plug to use, is those table digital weather stations that have Temperature, Humidity, and some also Barometric Pressure on them. That is the key to success or failure tuning engines with Turbo Glow Plugs, because they are so sensitive to weather variations that is unbelievable.

Forgot to say that the breaking point in choosing between C (long) or F (short) is humidity. Up to 70% use F type and above 70% use C type

can i get some help/opinon as to which motor would be best combined with Novarossi Turbo Tuned Pipe #52607?

NSR12S5
or
N12LL5

and also, seeing the performance specs of the two are pretty close to being similar in RPM, and HP. would the N12LL5 (long stroke) out perform the NSR12S5 (short stroke) in a tight track? lets just say they both have the same gear ratio.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks! :D

I would say front 7 x 19 x 6 and rear 13 x 25.4 x 6 at a guess .. sorry i cant be more acurate, you may have to take them out and measure

may i ask if u guys always replace both front and rear bearings at the same time? also, all these while i have been using nova/max rear bearings, but for front, i use those other japan made bearings from bearing shop. will this combination cause my bearings to damage very often? overall, on weekend play, all my bearings lasted max. for 3months.

The 321P is the version with the 'small' rear bearing.
The 321PS has the now more common 'bigger' rear bearing. (all .21 PLUS engines for instance)

exact sizes dunno either.

Sirio2127 03-05-2007 12:17 AM

All the later 21 novarossi engine have a 7x19x6 front and 14x25.8x6mm rear bearing normaly they are marked on the engine head with a ".8" or "25.8" and all of the plus line of 21 novarossi and novarossi word engines have a 14.5x26x6mm rear bearing and a 7x19x5mm front for the 21 onroad engines and 7x19x6 rubber sealed for the off road and metal sealed for the rally engine.

Very happy so far! :D :tire:

(BTW run-in seemed to require fewer tanks with this motor vs. other NR products I have run in the past?)

racer2 03-07-2007 06:40 PM

seeing that Novarossi assisted in producing Max Power MX 12 MAX SL3. does Novarossi have a comparitable/similar engine to it?

Thanks

racer2 03-08-2007 09:30 AM

is the NSR's an older version. which of the two sets of engines are the lastest version?

N12LS3 or NSR12S3

N12LS5 or NSR12S5

help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :D

Collari/Novarossi 35 plus 21

BTW for those interested in the performance of the Collari/Novarossi 35 plus 21...this thing is a beast!
