High Speed needle - 4 Turns out.
Thanks GUN,

This setting can let you start your engine. When I run at track,I usual rich the LSN to 5 turns out. And lean the HSN to about 3-1/2 turns out to extract full power. It depend on the engine temp. and your driving style.

Today,I got a phone call. One young man who is my friend want me to check his D5 for him and the engine sent to our factory already. As usual I asked him what's going on?

Young man:[Hi,Dino. Please check my D5.It's hard to adjust....]
Dino:[Well,what's wrong with it?]

Y:[Hum....can't idling and easy to cut out....]
D:[OK,I will check it for you. Any other odd condition? Are you sure your clutch setting is ok?]

Y:[No special condition, just easy to cut off when I close the throttle. The clutch setting is fine.]
D:[Well, maybe your engine is too old so the compression is not enough to keep idling. But I need to check it personally. How many fuel have been through it?]

Y:[Hum....not many....about 20 gallons only......]
D:[Well,It should be the reason. The piston and sleeve were worn out already. Let me check it for you tomorrow ok? And I will call you back. ok?...]

Y:[ok! Waiting for your answer, bro. bye!]
D:[bye!]

In fact,I really want to ooxx him on the phone but I restrained mine mouth. I don't know I should laugh or cry.... Sometimes it's strange, the same engine some one can use 20 gallons, but someone may only 2 liters?

Hay guys, lean you engine after making sure the break-in process passed already.

Already running a hot plug, but to be fair I have not done the first thing you should do when you hit problems, install new plug so next week before race I will install new plug.

Other then that STS D5 was really nice to drive, I love the powerband it supplies!!

BTW - The long breakin is fine with me, id rather longer compression life

I hope I get 20 gallons out of my D5

I was very happy with my break in on my D5 it was about 4L and that was it. Now after having about 15L its still got heaps of nip you cant push the piston more that 75% up the sleve.

Its just that i got no crank or rod for it. lol

But Dino is fixing me up!

I have a modified D3 that runs like a raped ape.
It has only a quart through it after break in.
90 bucks and it's yours.

I just picked up an engine deal and need to reduce my inventory.

I assume that by using a softer material for the crank you are hoping to avoid critical failure and allow a little more flex in the crankpin.

How long before the updated cranks will be available for sale in new engines?

I am very interested in a D3 for ROAR racing, and just want to make sure it's the riht purchase.

Thanks,
Jason
