The tapper that is being used as the seat/seal on these engines is NOT the same. The only other manufacture Im aware of using this same configuration is Picco/Mega.

What i saw my friend who is using the Boss engine, he is using the NovaRossi and O'donnel spark without problem. But, i agreed with you, the taper angle is different.

PS. for those who are using the O'donnel plugs 99, its quality is real deterioating. I have been experiencing some open packed failure(no glow). Be careful.

EFRA HAS CHANGED ITS SPECS ON 12 ENGINE, PERHAPS THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE NINJA VERSION IS DELAYED

does any one have links to or information on the new ninja 7 port

I run the new "a-series" Ninja MR.21 motor in my buggy and intend to use 30% Nitro. I broke it in with the stock shims (2-.3mm shims) but am wondering if I need to take them out and add the 2 that it came with to raise compression for the higher nitro content fuel. Or do I add the 2 .1mm shims to the stock set that are already on there to lower compression? I'm confused... :weird:

Basically- How many and how thick of total shims do I need to run if running 30% Nitro?

Sorry if you already covered this, but I couldn't find the info I was looking for. Thanks for any help you can give.

Nevermind I found it....sorry for not reading thoroughly.

I was told today that the Boss engine has differant crank timing from the Ninja. Has anyone heard this also?

Does anyone use Novarossi glow plugs on the Ninja engine (.21)? It seems that although the glow plugs are more similar to the Mega plugs (threaded part stops 1mm before the taper), the head button has threads all the way to the taper, similar to the Novarossis! I test fitted the three types of plugs (Ninja, nova and Mega) on my Ninja engine, and all seem to fit!

Nothing to do with it unfortunately. EFRA changed its rules to accomodate the new engines like Ninja that wouldnt be producing the old EFRA rules crank.

I dont know the exact problem but the delay is due to something not being right in the engines. They decided they would rather fix the problem first and release a good engine instead of releasing something that was not 100% good.

MR21-R01A factory setting

Does anyone know the carb. factory setting of the MR21-R01A engine?

gashuffer 01-25-2007 09:23 PM

Hey Moy, Richard at SV can get them.

MugenDrew 01-26-2007 06:12 AM

High speed four turns out from the closed position, low speed one and a half from flush with the face of the carb throttle linkage attaching point(sorry do not know the official term).
