M. Rossi has started to designed a new line of engine and exhaust pipes which is made by GRP in Italy: http://www.ninja-engine.com/content/intro.php
Looks pretty hot.

Word has it that these high performance engines will be very “competitively” priced. What everyone was waiting for high quality cheap racing engines.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Rumour has it that Ninja will be in Partnership with Mugen Seiki. Similar to Kyosho/Sirio. If this is true, where does this leave Novarossi/JP??

They are more than partner, the engine is distributed by Mugen under name Ninja. Maybe in the future there will be Ninja mod by JP or you may call it Super Ninja LOL :p ;)

am 01-01-2006 06:58 AM

actally the Ninja engines will be graded by colours e.g black will be moast powerfull, red next moast powerfull and so on.

This is not shown yet because the is only one engine in each category yet.

am 01-01-2006 06:59 AM

Just kidding. LOl

aGeS1272 01-01-2006 08:46 AM

Guys from the looks of the website Ace Hardware Hobbies might be carrying these engines as well. I haven't seen a actual item section selection in their engine section but if they are going to carry them they will have one soon. here is the link to their front page article.. http://acehardwarehobbies.com/2.2/catalog/default.php

n.e.r.d 01-01-2006 12:37 PM

yup, MugenSeiki will be the official distributor for the ninja engines.
guess they'll be selling it alongside JP engines?

my local Mugen distributor will be bringing in the engines soon.
heard from him that the .21 engines will be arriving first.
esp like the buggy engine wif its "V-Specques' head...
point to note is tt the on road and off road carbs are opp in design.
*2 thumbs up!!!*

if Mario Rossi is confident enuff to put his name on these engines, i'm certain they'll give novarossis, RBs, etc a run for their money :sneaky:

and btw, read in neobuggy that there'll be 3 versions of the engine that is made by GRP...
gold, grey and green head aka falcon, ninja and boss (kinda sound like some characters from an RPG game  )

finchy 01-01-2006 03:25 PM

I would like to give the on road 21 a go. But depends on pricing I suppose. Anything Mario Rossi puts his name to would be of high qauility, you would assume.

T. Thomas 01-01-2006 03:35 PM

I do like how the idle screw is not on the bottom of the carbs for the onroad or offroad engines.

SalvadoriRacing 01-01-2006 03:42 PM

interesting that bore & stroke of .21 engines are the same as the currently novarossi ones (designed by Mario Rossi before he left)......

well, like Bon Jovi sings: "It's all the same.......only the names will change......"

ogreasurada 01-01-2006 04:35 PM

And they sure fit PERFECT with the Mugen machines :sneaky:

INTERESTING DETAIL

Conrod: It is produced with a special advanced technological material, which has allowed the exclusion of any bushings. This gives a greater lightness, leading to a higher acceleration and rotational rate. Moreover, this material has a specific heat resistance at high temperatures of use guaranteeing a minimal deformation.

i've seen more details that are interesting. What i'm wondering is, how come these new techniek is out 'now' and other manufactures are not using it? Will it be as good as they say? Or are the current manufactureres unable to create such materials?

Corse-R 01-03-2006 11:30 AM

Interesting details.

I'm the only one who has done their own investigations and compared it against all other 7 port Novas and other Nova based mills?

Bore/Stroke.
Ninja: 16.27/16.79
Nova RX221: 16.26/16.80
Nova PLUS 21-3C: 16.26/16.80
RB C5: 16.22/16.80

INSANE redline.... 48k rpms!

BTW: Asked the price and seems slightly cheaper than Nova mills. Uses the small crank (14mm). I was thinking on giving retirement for mine RX21's and planning to get one, just for testing.

mgtman 01-03-2006 02:23 PM

any one got a price on them yet they look preety good ,shoot maybe ill grab it as a spare for the rb .where are they available anyone got any links

_cyclops_ 01-03-2006 02:52 PM

THe outside looks great, but no pics on the inside yet... let's see what that brings....

Xyvern 01-03-2006 10:17 PM

Is this a Nova Rossi based engine

Scott Fisher 01-03-2006 11:12 PM

This engine is built by GRP. I do not believe Novarossi has anything to do with this engine.

Very nice looking motors and Mario Rossi known to be one of the best nitro engines designer in the world.
As motor it self-pretty short strok motor. It should be very high RPM motor ( I am beliving in 45K out of that motors), just one thing I don't personaly understand for 12 MR T01-with parameters stated in their web site strok 13.79 and bore 14.02 the size of the motor come up to 2.13 cc or .13 ci which is over then allowed for IFMAR, ROAR or EFRA rulls for sedan. It ether wrong numbers on their web site or something else, but defenetly doesn't fit to existing rulls (2.11 cc or .12 ci)
here is web link to calculate timing and volums for references http://www.palmarisracing.com/Timing_Calculator.htm

SalvadoriRacing 01-04-2006 06:37 AM

I also noticed that........

maybe bore stroke were confused...........the .21 engiens are the sameb bore and stroke as Novarossi ones.............perhaps the .12 engine is the same as well (stroke 14mm and bore 13.8...................or 14.02 and 13.79 just to be different :p )................

rafito 01-05-2006 10:29 AM

I am not sure what you guys are looking at but the novarossi .12 has a 13.8 bore which is bigger and a 14.04 stroke which is also bigger and that motor still falls under the engine guidelines..HHHUUUUUMMM........ :weird: :weird: :weird:

If you dont believe me than check out this website: http://www.novarossi.com/eng/motori/ns12s3.htm

How can a motor with a smaller stroke and a smaller bore be bigger.... Just a thought................

You guys are using the palmaris calc wrong .... Punch in the a stroke of 14.02 and a piston bore of 13.79...... It is all legal :weird: :weird:

I know for a fact that web guys sometimes input the wrong info... I would imagine that the motor is more likely to be legal than not....

Pro Models 01-05-2006 10:44 AM

I was told that the top of the line .21 on-raod engine would retail at around the 400 euro mark.... wicked price if that is so

i didn't use the palmaris website cal.............anyway it works..........

just check the info on ninja engine website and do the maths.........

stroke>>> 13.78
bore>>>>14.02

capacity = pi*(14.02)˛/4 * 13.78

=>capacity = 0.1298 cubic inch............

n.e.r.d 01-05-2006 12:03 PM

anyone got any pics of the internals yet? piston/liner, crankshaft?
found out from my LHS that the ninja engines won't be coming out with modded versions.
so i guess the stock ones might (or might not) be mildly modified from the factory?

hi scott,
wat's the word on the expected release date?
have you seen the engine yet?
or better still, tried it out?

Dreddlox 01-05-2006 02:56 PM

They are expected to be in stores early February, but we'll see.

Uneke 01-05-2006 06:25 PM

I just looked at the web site and it looks very interesting. Between this engine and the new Wasp REV its good to see companies trying new things. I just hope they show results on the track.

Vinyard 01-08-2006 08:28 PM

Yah hoo.. was looking for alternative engines to get.. this may seem to be the one to get.

If its is gonna be marketed by Mugen Seiki, i presume it would have to be intensely test to its limits by their factory drivers ainit?

Would love to see the likes of Fukuda, Tanaka and other Mugen drivers using the engines! :tire: :tire: :tire: :tire: :tire:

Seems like the GRP Bros and Mario Rossi together with Kenji OSaka have been testing in Japan
