100% correct.

The G5T was only a limited edition motor. It is no longer being made.
A-Main and us down here in NZ got the last order out of the factory - we only have 18 units left ourselves.
Great little motor for the price. You guys have summed it up pretty well as far as the bottom end and top end.
It's not the GXII crank minus the epoxy as far as I know.
At that price you could afford to throw a GXII crank and 3 needle on one.
By the way, the G5T with the grey crankcase looks very cool with the GXII head and finned button fitted too - very exotic looking.

GO have something new coming out very soon to replace the G5T. Along the same lines - affordable entry level, but still competitive. 4 Port (4 + 2) sleeve I am told. Should be out in the next month or so.

hi all, how mm of shims should i use for the GO GXII? im running 25% nitro and engine fully broken in.

They still run great with the stock shimming on 25%

But if you want to take out a shim....

Take out the very thinnest one (brass 0.10)

Mine stock has 2 shims. 0.3 and 0.2mm.

alloy 0.3 and brass 0.2 ?

total of 0.5

did it come with a brass 0.1 in the box ?

replace the 0.2 with a 0.1 for a total of 0.4

Use a good quality glow plug, I was running a .4 shimming and it seemed to knock the coils out of the glow plug. I suggest a werks #6 ... OS p3 &p4's don't last more than half gallon. These are just my findings.

Quite possibly not FULLY run in yet...

It's not plug quallity thats the issue, but rather the fact that a Werks 6 is colder than OS P3 and P4s

The Hotter the heat range of a plug the wire element is thinner, and cooler it is thicker, therefore stronger.

I use O Donnell plugs with no issues Medium and Cold T97 and T99s

Is there a place to source GX-7R cooling heads in the US? I'm having a problem with the fins breaking at an alarming rate.

i have found a few on ebay for 5 bucks brand new.
