Hey Grizz- have you tried ceramics in your GXIIs yet? Also, are those US or AUS gallons? (haha) I just dropped in some on my personal motors, and will be trying them out at diff tracks on the west coast this week... when I'm out there for the ROAR offroad nats. Looking forward to meeting up with the Go racers out there.

That's imperial gallons or 9 litres ;)
I am running the Answer ceramic mains in both my GXII and MG66. Quicker spool up and snappier response. I find them really good and long lasting.
I don't bother with the fronts, due to starter box shock loading and dirt intrusion through the flywheel cut out. One thing ceramics don't like and that is dust and dirt

ran at the nationals this weekend,6.5mm restrictor,2072 pipe,od97t plug and pitted at 10:30 secs in the xray 11 buggy and the clutch was slipping badly all the way thru the final,i would think 11:30 is easy when the clutch is sorted.

its all to do with how smooth you drive..

Does the new GXII come with a run in shim, carb inserts and spare rod as the GX series does?

fastboy 05-31-2011 04:45 AM

inserts yes,others no

I'll be back at RCHQ the weekend after this, and I'll be doing a bit of practicing during the week. prob going to focus on buggy from now on, but I'm running the same GXII I had in porter, early this year. It does have new bearings and... well.. a new case, because I was a dumbass and tapped the screwdriver into the case when changing the bearings. Still the P/R/S and crank have around 5 gallons on them now. Still rips like noone's business. Cant wait to run it w/ rear ceramic and double-sealed front.

Also... just so everyone knows... there will be a permanent price reduction, starting with the incoming batch of GXII. due any day now.

for some reason I find that with the inner rubber sheild gone they leak like a sieve!!! I had one that when I blew through it I made champagne bubbles, leaked so bad you could suck air into the crank case. And that was my new go-hoII Put in stock bearing I had laying around with both seals,no leaks.

I must need another seal on my GOOD ear, cuz what ever goes in one ear, goes out the other.
