The Arrow was ripping today. Love it. Running a WERKS 2057 pipe today. Love it. Sounds pretty nasty as well.
The hottest Werks plug doesn't even get close to the heat of a p3 or p4. Is more like a p8 if there was such a plug.

Thanks James. I'll give the Bullitt plugs a try. I'm sure they are a re-branded OS plug. If they don't work out My LHS stocks the OS P3 as well.

I am running an O.S. Speed VZ crank. It's got some punch...

As far as porting, you may remember the old Ninja B01. It was a 5 port VZ. It split the side ports and had channels in the case. The timing was different, though. Some people swore they were much faster, but they were close.

What makes a Speed a Speed is mostly in the crank (timing, filled, slugged, slightly different cutout, and DLC), of course the lighter knife-edge con rod (which moved the oiling hole like Arrow), and P/S work is pretty much the exhaust port (as I've said before, I don't know why Arrow didn't use the Speed exhaust port to begin with. It's just cutting more material).

I'm looking to get some hard core factual run times from people that have this engine. If you engine has no mecahnical pinch can you please share the following information:

Average lap times at the track you run (this will determine track size)
Pipe you are using
Track surface
Clutch used and set-up
Fuel you use
Plug you use
Minutes until dry tank

Thank you to all who share.

Got mine to the track this weekend and probably have 3/4 gallon on it. It still needs some more time on it. I like the motor as it is super smooth and was consistent.

I am still running it with the break in shim and will wait to take it out. It seems to lack a little on top with the re-11. Does taking the shim out give it quite a bit more on top? If so, I will be very pleased.

Hi Frank, to avoid any confusion by people that might be reading what you wrote I just wanted clarify a few things as unfortunately that is not correct. Our #5 plug falls between a OS P3 & P4. Our #6 is slightly colder than a OS P4 and our new #4 plug which we are just starting to release is slightly hotter than a OS P3 but the way we designed it uses a wire thickness equal to our #5 for increases reliability & longevity (thinner hence hotter elements are more prone to breakage than thicker ones).

Before we released our own plugs a few years ago we ran OS P4's and then P3's (once they released them) for our off-road program from about 2003 or so, so I'm pretty familiar with the OS plug line and their temp ranges

Removing the shim will help with some power.

The OS 2050 pipe, what the RE-11 is 'loosely' based on, came with a shorter square header for top-end to match the pipe/VZ combo. The RE-11 comes with a longer torque style header (Why? I don't know... but would like to.). If you can find yourself a shorter header that will help you out. Nova has several; FYI - I don't believe the T-2050 header is as 'short' as the shortest Nova header, but I could be wrong.

I'm paired with the 2050, which I think is a great combination in the truggy.

It took 6 liters for mine to lose mechanical pinch. These are long lasting engines.

cheers

I have fitted the PSR into a Vspec Promod and was very impressed with the amount of power and how smooth it was. Engine is still tight so it was run a bit on the rich side Running it with a Reedy 2035 the engine had a really strong bottom and screamed up top. I have a OS2060 that I will use this weekend. I also have a Nove 2096 and a Axe Rossi 2050 that I will try out.
