ok thx James!

My arrow was great today, runs very good. I think it runs better than any engine I have ever ran. I will be running these for a long time. Mine has a very mild mod on it and the run time is real good. Not broke in all the way yet,so have not put a full race tune on it yet, still a tiny bit rich. Will see how tuff they are cause I run my engines right on the edge. Allso I think will try a diff pipe the ttr 2035 is holding it back a bit on the top end. Think the re11 is the the pipe to run.

GTR update

We ran a RE10, 6.5 restricter, steel flywheel, 2 alu. and 2 comp, and I was willing to give up some run time for it, but after a 7 min, dry track qualifier, I was at the seam on the tank, and temped at 220. Great power, and fairly smooth, Overall great motor, I'm at 2 gallons now

I'm sending one off to Clockwork to work his magic for me. I'm asking for more bottom end and have him lap the piston to ease break in. I'll report back when I fire it up.

what pipe works best on these engines? i have a OS 2060, GRP 2053, Dynamite 053, A-plus 0801, Dynamite 007, JP3, and Losi RE10. im thinking 2060 or RE10 will be best...

Thanks.

ronjallen 06-18-2011 05:30 PM

Also has anyone tried or know how the nova 9901 pipe will work

JamminSP 06-18-2011 05:50 PM

I like the 2060 pipe but I heard the 9901 Nova was killer also.... The 2050 works good too but isnt exactly the most fuel efficient....

ronjallen 06-19-2011 07:24 AM

Ok thanks. Wanted to try the motor just didn't want to have to buy another pipe

BeefHead 06-19-2011 02:20 PM

Any pipe that works on a vspec/speed will work. The engine rocks, just take you're time with the breakin.I am running od 97 plug ttr2035 pipe hot bodies plastic clutch 1.0 springs 30% fuel 6mm restrictor. Still a tiny bit rich on the top,but still getting great run time and power. Its real smooth but not to smooth, and runs like swiss watch, will just sit and idle after a long race. Enjoy man!

we psoted this a few pages back and still running the same set up,
a few weeks ago we ran a 12 min main on the same track and finished on
ONE tank!

here's my setup

6.5mm restrictor
nova 9901 pipe w/ 41021 headder
sidewinder strike 30%
steel flywheel 2 comp w/green springs, 2 alu w/ gold springs (std losi setup)
os p3 plug
13/48 gear ratio
motor has about 1 gallon on it, and i took out the break in shim before the race
we ran a 20 min main, came in at 10 min, and took only 100cc, I used a Losi fuel gun.
Hope this helps

You will like it man,its a bear to break in but worth it.

JamminSP 06-19-2011 08:36 PM

Break in on these arent bad at all.. To me no worse than a VSpec. There is slightly more pinch so you definately want to use a heat gun. Ive had much much much worse engines to break in. Its a very smooth engine and has impressed me with that fact alone.

Mark Erce 06-24-2011 07:45 AM

hey James losi pipe?

i remember you telling me about the losi pipe that seems to work good. i just forgot was it the RE10 or RE11. bottom-end is great but i want a little more up top. is the RE11 the top-end pipe?

thanks

Jaz240 06-24-2011 08:19 AM

RE-10= 2060, RE-11=2050
I always liked the 2050 better in buggy but the 2060 comes with the ) shaped manifold which is better for low end. I think you will be happy with either one. They are both just cheap alternatives to the $150 OS pipes
