Got my Rcrenew modified argus fully broke in and spent all day running it back to back with my stock argus. The mod version has a LOT more power from bottom to top. I ran one for a tank thenswapped it out and ran the other. Wow what a difference also I got about 1 minute more with the mod version which surprised me. I actually hit 11 minutes inm buggy almost everytime! I was wandering if the power band was going to change from the stock version but its crazy still super smooth but spools up fast and just pulls so much harder. Definatly worth it Lance did an amazing job. My buddy with a speed got pissed cause I would pull him everytime...lol I love it!

Got a chance to run the A52 today and was very impressed! Great power and good milage so far. I'm using the AP 0801 Pipe/Header and a P3 Plug. This motor idles so well and held a good tune throughout the day.

How much fuel do you have thru the engine, the mileage usually started getting better after about a gallon to 1.5 gallons. Yes it does like the bottom to be a little rich. (but not to much) . Tune the bottom on the starter box once up to temp. rev motor slightly, then let it go to idle, count to 15 then pull full thottle. It the motor dies, the bottom is too rich. Continue to leans the bottom until you can count to 15 and pul full throttle and the motor hesistates for just a second and then revs. This should have the bottom pretty close. Then drive the car to set the high speed needle. After high speed is set then double check the low end and you should be tuned.

Your really not running that rich a bottom end. These have the long lsn in them. Needle never comes out of the spray bar. Once you get it dialed youll get about 9 or 10 in buggy and 10 to 12 in truggy. The 2035 is part of the problem also. If you have a 801 or even a 2013 youll get way better run times.

Did you close the idle gap after it was broken in? Almost every brand motor I have seen comes with the idle gap wider than it should be once you start putting a race tune on it. Close it up to .7mm, it can be a little tough to see since the carb slide is black.

They are actually very good mileage engines. I have not tried the 2035 on the argus yet but. so I dont know how that pipe effects mileage but. Your tune is probrably still on the rich side. Eveyone I race with running them gets at least 9 minutes in buggy on a very loose track. The engine will do easy 10 minute pits with the proper tune, clutch setup and throttle control. Give it a little more time to break in and i'm sure you will be pleased

Just a note, we now have some team drivers starting on their 6th gallon and some others with a little over 5 gallons.

I personally had one from last year that I had 4.5 gallons on but my air filter got pulled away from the flange and I filled the engine full of dirt. The engine I am running now, I just started on my 5th gallon. Rod still has no slop and engine is still running great.

I'm sure this question has been asked in this thread somewhere, what are the stock needle settings? Reason being is that I just purchased a second hand buggy with this engine and want to start from scratch with tuning.

I would say hsn just in from flush and low speed 1-1.5 turns in from flush.

Actually you can run the 87t with no problems. Ive run the voodoo #5 which is the same as a P3 and the 87t. I actually like the 87t as it is a little easier to tune. I also used the 87t in my alpha with no problems either..... Greg you gonna race next Sat.......

Hi guys, I thought I would update you,
I broke mine in this weekend with a JP4 and OS P3 plugs. I started straight away once heated with heat gun.
I idled 2 tanks on the box after preheating. Then did 2 tanks on the floor with figure of eights. Then I took to a local club meeting today in my truggy. In the first round I ran it very rich and was fairly boring going round. I leaned it off a little bit each round, increasing the amount of throttle slightly, and in round 4 it was flying. Still very rich and slightly boggy, but it was flying and keeping up with almost everyone down the straight. I was even able to clear the double with only a small run-up. I ended up qualifying 2nd whilst breaking in the engine which was pretty good
I am very impressed with this engine so far, and cannot wait for it to fully bed in.

Will keep you posted,
Scott

Just wanted to update you guys on how tough these motors are. I have a little over 3 gallons on mine now. Well today the receiver battery came unplugged and I had a runaway. Took a good 20 to 30 secs to get it shut down. Took it to the table to check things out. Took the plug out and with 3 plus gallons and a runaway this thing still has mech. pinch left. No rod play or anything. Put a new plug in, fired right up and ran 3 more tanks through it.... Ill keep you updated on how much longer it lasts.......
