I have used Odonnell plugs in my Alpha and Argus motors with no problems.

I myself have used the OD plugs in the Argus thus far, and ran them last year in both my Orion and Reedy engine, currently using a OD87T.
As far as the AE 2035 pipe, it is a good all-around pipe that works decent on most engines, but really is not the "optimum" for any engine out there. It will give good mid-range and decent top end, but it would not be a good choice to go with if you want to get optimum mileage.
To get optimum mileage, you need a pipe that is tuned in to the port timing of the engine at higher RPM. But, IMO, the MPG game is a tough way to win. You tend to have a more finicky pipe that is harder to tune, and you gain what, 1 or 2 minutes of run time? It sounds like allot, but it really isn't.
In a 30 minute main, once you break the 7.5 min mark for run time, you need to get to 10 min of run time to make a difference (3 stops instead of 4). And in reality, you need to have about 11 min of run time to not be so close on fuel you flame out/suck air at the pit stop.
At the Worlds, Drake was running the fuel strategy, rumors were that he could go 14min+ on a tank. It worked ok in the long qualifiers because he didnt have to pit, but come the long main the others just out motored him. Yea, they stopped 3 more times, but they made up so much ground when they were on the track.
That and a GOOD fuel stop doesn't take long.
Look at this link at the 5:00 Mark, you can see 22Racer (Rex) fuel Kendall and even a old guy can do it in under 3 seconds.

And watch the rest of the video if you got time, that is a RW Mods tuned DYNAMITE engine showing up the current IFMAR Buggy World Champ how it's done. Cody had to take Kendall out to get by him (6:44).

On March 19th, at ZooCity Raceway, with over 70 entries, Argus does it again.

Team Driver DJ Hepler takes the TQ and the win in Pro Truggy with his Argus powered HB D8T.

Team Driver Richard Allen takes the win in Sportsman Buggy with his Argus powered ZCar Z10XB buggy.
Way to go guys!!!

I was curious as to what a pit stop actually costs a driver as far as time, and was quite surprised. Its 7 seconds. I have the 2008 liverc Ifmar worlds. The time remaining in the race is on the screen and I watched two drivers side by side, and one pulls into the pits while the other driver stayed out. About 30 feet past pit lane is where I made note of the time. After the pit driver passed the marker that was the stop time. It was 7 seconds. It may only take 3 seconds to fuel a car but you loose time slowing for pit row and getting back up to speed. Keep in mind this was the A main final for the Ifmar worlds, so I doubt even the local guys could do any better unless the pit lane actually shortened the track.

I pit for one of the Z-car/Argus supported drivers and he uses a JP-3 with this engine and with a 7mm venturi, at the PNB he was consistently getting about 11 minutes per tank in his Z-truggy.
I just bought one from him and am breaking it in now for my 8ight 2.0 truggy. This is the pipe I'm definitely going to use when the engine's race ready.

Ive got over 3 gallons on mine now with a 801 pipe and it runs great, 10 min plus run times good bottom , good mid and good top. My buddy just bought one, didnt have a 801 so he put a 2057 on it. With little less than a gallon this thing screams....... Smoother bottom than the 801 little less torky, about the same mid as 801 but what a top, the thing screams and hes still running on the fat side as to where Im pretty much as race tuned as I can get. So if you dont have a 801 around, give the 2057 a try. Oh and these are both in Losi 8T 2.0s. Im really tempted to get one for the outdoor series coming up, more straights means more power to the rear....... This motor and a 2057 in a buggy would fly....

You can get percotiate version at A-main. If you want the Alpha version check with Jonathan he might have some in stock. There both the same pipe just different names. If you cant find the 801 try the 2081 works very well also.....

My point is that in a 30 minute main, you have to be able to get ALLOT more run time to get any advantage on the track.
Scenario: 1 car that pits at 7 min, one at 8.
Car 1 - Pits at 6min, 13min, 20min, 26.5 min
Car 2 - Pits at 7min, 14min, 21min, 28 min.
Both cars pit 4 times. Will car 2 make it to the end? Maybe. Will he flame out? Did they get the tank FULL to the top?
So he starts driving conservitive to make sure he does. Car one doesn't have to worry about it, and is full on the power the last 5 minutes of the race. And will eat up a 30 foot dis-advantage of a pit stop in quick fasion.
I have watched guys practice and "say" they can get 9-10min of run-time, but practice isn't racing. The same guys will pit at 7 minutes, cause he knows that last 2 minutes of run time are all dependant on how much fuel they got in the car, tune, temps and if you get marshalled or not.
That is why IMO you have to get to damn near 11 minutes of "On Track - Race Condition" run time in order to get down into a 3 stop fuel strategy. And right now, IMO, the only way to get that much run time is to de-tune the engine. Try qualifying with 80% vs. that of the guys running 100% power.

Well most of my customers have over 5 gallons on there Argus engines. With all positive things to say. No problems or issues
And all are amazed at the power output of these mills. If anyone is NOT running one of the recommended pipes, I suggest you do, or at least try it.Big difference with the right pipe.
Thanks,
Lance

LOL...Its crazy how fast you burn thru fuel out here! I have a lot of customers and freinds who are at the track 3 days a week and race every weekend. Wish I had the time to do that!! One week I talk to them and they just broke in there engine and 2 weeks later I talk with them and they got 2 or more gallons on them already!.... Thats why I work on so many guys engines out here and from AZ. At That rate they would be buying new engines every couple months. So the resizing really helps them out.
Funny we were thinking about moving out east somewhere. BUt there is always pros and cons to everything!

Take care guys,
Lance
