It would be interesting to know how many parts come out of one factory and supply different engine brands.

I just picked up a orange head Alpha engine at cost + 10% the mark up on these motors is huge at retail.

Just a little clarification, The Argus A52 is very much like an orange head Alpha Engine. It is a 5 + 2 port design. With the 2075 pipe it has a very smooth bottom to mid power band. The 2081 pipe seems to give a little stronger bottom end.

We are going to to offer to pipe combos:

1- A52 engine with an EFRA 2075 pipe ---- 200.00

2- A52 engine with an EFRA 2081 pipe ---- 225.00

We have done much testing with these engines with great results.

Combos will be added to website soon.

As far as "Inferno 13" saying the motors are "out of stock", the website clearly states "PRE-ORDER".
We currently do still have some stock on the engines, but are in talks with some Team Drivers and are holding the last few engines for them.
Next stock shipment is due early January.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact us at [email protected]

you'd be surprised at how many engine brands are made at one factory
Go, Alpha, SH, Force Ofna-Force, HPI/Hotbodies, RB Killer series, Axial.....

GO and Alpha are made in the same factory. All of the others you named along with REEDY and Thunder Tiger are an entirely different factory. Still in Taiwan though.

This motor is definitely based on the Alpha family of engines. It is nice that it has the Tini coated cranks like the GO and JS engines.

[QUOTE=houston;8314570]well , i can think of 5 "brands" that are the same or very very close to the same engine , they are all made in taiwan , blah[/QUO

I can think of several different brands that come from the Nova factory. I can also think of numerous brands that come from Star engine. So what if they are made in the same place? Nova has been around a long time and I am sure there first few years were met with some hills to climb from a quality standpoint. Dont be mad that the Taiwan engines have met the adversity with better quality products and are getting better all the time. I wouldnever knock Nova as they are the most respected brand out there but I would think a guy with your background would not be so negative towards other "brands" that are trying to prove themselves in the market place. Maybe it is time for the Italian mills to stop price gouging their loyal customers before more of them make the jump to the Taiwan engines. Afterall that is what all the fuss from the Italian dist. and wholesalers/modders is about anyway. Drastically declining sales numbers. It turns out the Taiwan made "little guys" are not so little anymore. 2011 should be a very interesting year with all the new names coming out from both Italy and Taiwan. As well as the major price drops by OS. The RC engine game is changing for the better in my humble opinion.

Go is not Alpha, nor do they share parts. They are two completely different designs. The carburetor appears similar, but the needles dont interchange, so there are significant design differences.

On the other hand, Argus IS Alpha.

wow ! a lil defensive i take it
you are being much more negative towards novarossi than i have been to any certain manufacturer

simply made a statement that i know of at least a certain amount of engines are made at a certain factory in taiwan , i am not a fan of chinese products at all (goes way beyond any rc related products) , they are absolutely demolishing any integrity and pride us as americans had with there subpar products for prices we can not even purchase raw materials for . please dont start , i wasnt being totally negative .

i dont do micromotors sales for a living and couldnt care less about "the profit" of it all , i am more about getting racers setup with a quality product when they decide to do so , ask anybody that has ever came to me for services or products .

i think you need to relax
i do agree that the rc engine world is changing for sure

bact to your regularly scheduled program

GO engines are turds.....yes I said it....sue me

EVERY GO I have ever seen at our track has blown to pieces, they flat out suck and are a waste of $....you know how many times I heard "do you have a Novarossi carb I can use?"...OR...."will a Novarossi p-s-r- set fit this GO of mine?" Im sorry, not trying to flame or be funny, it's just the flat out, cold, hard truth.

sorry to spam your thread

LOL I do concede on the American made statement. In general terms anyway, but none of our mills say made in America on them

I wish Argus the best of luck with their new engine line.

Hmmm, the Italians are price gouging their customers? I didn't realize Werks engines were so expensive. The old trusty P5 Nova isn't either. I mean how many Taiwanese copies of the P5 will there be? The names keep getting worse.

The name may be a little funny (Argus was a mythologial Greek monster)
but the motors have plenty of power, great fuel mileage, and are holding up very well.
