Sure, let me know when that is. Maybe we can round up a couple mason jars? Whoop, whoop!

Well got over 2 gallons on my Argus that i bought from RcRenew and it has run flawlessly! I love that I never have to chase a tune a hour or so is all I have had to tune it to get it dialed in on different days. The power on this engine is awesome. I also do really like the 0801 pipe I got. I was running the 2013 but the 0801 gets better mileage I am getting between 9 -10.5 minutes per tank depending on traction in my buggy. I was going to have Lance at Rcrenew mod one for me but really I dont think it needs it. I am tempted to try my next one modded though:sneaky: He did a novarossi 3 port for me a while back and it was like a whole new engine.Went from a tird to a screamer! SO The argus already has a lot of power so It will probrably just burn the tires off!..lol

Argus

ya im probably gonna have lance mod my next argus engine he does a good job he modded my last engine I dont know why he doesnt put moding services on his website cuz he does a killer job. I was referred to rcrenew a while back from some buddies who he had modded engines for a couple years back and there still running the engines lance does great work. Im really surprised how well the argus egine works for me ive used all types novas sirios...and this engine is fast and reliable and suprisingly easy to tune.

Have a gallon and a half on mine now, runs perfect. I do have a question to ask any of you guys running these. It was common with the Alphas so Im gonna assume its common with these also. Does your front bearing weep. Mine just covers the bottom of the motor at the end of the day. Nothing on the pan and no dripping from the flywheel. Just curious........... I know with the Alphas it usally stopped after a gallon or so.

Jupe-21 02-13-2011 12:55 AM

To hdcruzer, the two that i have have not leaked out of anywhere. my last alpha leaked out the bearing and carby until i sealed it but no need to with these motors.
I have now reached four litres on my truggy motor which i am running an RB 2045 pipe which is going really well.
My buggy motor which has now done just over three litres is going awesome aswell but dont have as much fuel milage with the alpha pipe.
My truggy motor gets eight and a half minutes while my buggy motor only reaches seven and a half. both seem similar with needle settings.
Has anybody tried an OS 2060 pipe with these motors?

hdcruzer 02-13-2011 07:18 AM

Thanks Jupe, I know most of the time they will stop seeping on there own. Like I said the motor runs perfect. With a race tune now it runs 240 at the end of a 20 min main and with the A-Plus 0801, 7mm restrictor it gets 10 mins with almost a quarter tank left.

RCHavoc 02-13-2011 07:36 AM

Took home second in buggy and third in truck at round 6 of KRBL Yesterday. Finally got the buggy engine broken in all the way. With a 6.5 MM restrictor, I was getting about 11-12 min run time with more then enough power. With the truggy, I started off with an 8mm restrictor and ran about 8 minutes on a very fat setting. Once I was comfortable with the amount of time on the engine, I put in a 7mm restrictor and leaned it out. Ended up getting around the same run time if not a little longer. I went 8 minutes and still had about 1/8th of a tank left. I ended up running a faster lap with the truck then I did the buggy.

I am getting ready to try an Argus modded. I am hoping that it will not be insane. Usually they can give them more power, but a smoother power. Might not hurt to see what happens. If I can get back home (on the opposite coast right now) and get mine going, I will update you.

Mine did weep, ever so slightly in between the first and second gallon. This was the first motor we tested, so I was determined not to do anything with it. Since then, I have not noticed anything at all.
