I will send you my gap setting in mm for idle. I was a little rich there too. But with these new setting man this is something else she will snap quick. Since your in the next state over you tune should not be that far off from mine. I borrowed a temp gun today while in my pits I hit a 300. Richened the top just a tap came back in fast after the race and he temp me at 287f. This had no problem with that kinda heat. This was running the tb1 with a 7.5. Od 97 and vp 30 with 9% oil content. Not bad for a guy that cant hear these things right but I make do lol. Cant wait for the next race any way I will post my setting tomorrow.

First laps of 2014 after a long winter so I was a bit rusty. Tekno NT48 with a stock Argus R8. Pretty good motor!

So MitchelG this is what I got for a race setting on the .23. It was about 60 degrees out side with these settings.
hsn needle is out .10mm from housing.
lsn is in 1.37
idle gap screw is out from carb body. 4.04 mm. I measured from the flatter spot of the carb. You can see a small gap the carb body with the reducer in. I was hitting temps in the 270 to 280 range.
Idle great and ran awesome all day long. Let me know what you came up with for you race day. After the last 7 or 8 minutes after fixing my tune I still had like a quater of a tank left. I think if you try to go any lower on the hsn you will bog out. I tried flush and on the straight it was a no go. I hit full blast for like a second then let go and richened the hsn back out. I might have to do the same again when it gets hotter out but it loved these setting.

High speed right around .1mm out
Low speed was 1.55mm in
And idel wad 49.9mm (measured all the way across the carb when carb is fully closed) it was running very rich on the low end that day... But it made it through the 30min main with no engine issues so I can't complain...

Yes I guess we are set up the same. Minus the low speed.it a scream when you get that low tuned in right. I cant wait till my next race. I had some guys scooping it out so it told them to check out rex from rwmods.

Kendall is my son, he really can wheel. He only raced one nitro race last year and is doing quite a bit more this year. I wish I could go to the JConcept race this weekend and pit for him.

Rex

There was a video of Kendall battling it out with tebo somewhere. Maybe Rex can post it up.

I believe you are thinking of his battle with Cody King.

adubaz7 05-23-2014 01:36 PM

I will be breaking in my new R8 starting tonight so I can race the Dual with it next weekend. Cant wait to put in some laps with this bad boy. My D52 is awesome so I have high expectations of this R8 as well. Thanks Rex.
