Ran my .23 today! was the only Truggy at the track so they had me run with the 5th scale trucks lol. Don't let there size fool you THERE FAST the winner today had a 7+hp engine in his. i qualified 6 seconds behind him. Started the 15 a main in second. I kept up to the leader for probably 7-8 min then i had to pit ( funny story there i actually drove from atop pit lane and refueled my self well everyone else drove from the drivers stand lol). Even with the pit stop i manages to hold on to forth, made my way back to 2nd, then had to pull off early because my motor was running WAY to lean, i thing i have air drawing in some where. Any ways, great day of racing engine ran great.

That sucks was that a chessy city. My truggy took a big break today. The kid took it out for the first quail and broke the rear hinge pin right in half. Wow talk about nose up full blast. So he was done for the day. I had put a 7 reducer in the carb and in practice made 10 minutes easy pushing really hard. Now the kid some how only got 6 minutes dont know how but he suck fuel quick... I have another race this weekend and the r8 will be ready for my buggy.

MitchelG 07-20-2014 06:51 PM

yeah, it was at cheese city in monroe. i switched back to my argus carb with 8mm insert and engine runs great again. i guess ill just order the 7mm from insert from rex lol. i can still make 9min on a tank with the 8mm but would really like to have that 10 min fuel stops. should have a full class of truggys this weekend at cheese city ( like 8 or so). i use to have a .28 that only got 6 min on a tank lol

I had those 28 to I hated them.
to be honest im surprised you had 1/5 scale guys there this weekend with the canada national going on.we onky had 2 1/5 at the track today. I would get the set. Also maybe the 0801 pipe I had it on today but thaT was just one run it seem to work great also. I think are straight at this track is 180 feet and it a fast flowing one. You seen the video of it. This is the only one that pushing limits. I did hit a ten minutes in buggy today easy with my 21 but not the r8.
Also the r8 looks like it gonna have different needle setting big. Mine came in at out flush at on the lsn if I remember correctly the 23 was in.

22Racer 07-20-2014 09:09 PM

The R8 carb is different and the lsn is usually out from flush up to 1 turn out.

Rex do you have the carb inserts for the .23 available? Or is there another brand of insert that works just as well?

MitchelG 07-21-2014 05:01 AM

Rex should have some. But any OS, Nova or alpha insert will fit.

Another good showing for the argus motor at mwns. Quailfy 4 in the A main. I ran the D52 with the 0801 pipe (which made the motor really come alive) track had huge big air and I had no problem clearing anything on the track. Ended up finishing 7 in the A main but thats because i broke a front shock shaft and ended my race 15 min in. The Argus motor run great and is one of my favorit motor so far super easy to tune and will run with all the big name motors. Like to thanks Rex at RWMODS again for the great motor and the super service.

Had a nice showing last weekend at CVR raceway for the 2nd round of Nitro Nights. Qualifying was shaky as I am still messing with the set up on my D812 (second race with it) and qualified 5th with my A5. Q'd 7th in Truggy (transponder issues first qual, FINALLY fixed for second).

Finished 4th in the buggy. Track has a nice long front straight and no one is gaining on the A!

Finished 1st in Truggy A! The R8 is still coming in, but was a solid beast! Hands down best motor I have ever run. I did not have to touch the needles all night, and ended up putting a lap on the field. The power this thing puts down amazes me everytime I run it, and, as it is getting close to the 1 gal mark, is still coming in and it's exciting to see how it will run each race!!
