there are 2 new motors, the A5 (5pt) and B52 (5+2). The B52 looks like a evolution from the A52 with subtle sleeve changes and the new modified crank. We have just finished running in both motors but bad weather has prevented any track testing. We have a big meeting next weekend so hopefully will get to see how good the new mills are

Ran some more fuel through my Argus today too. Getting a better feeling for it with the 0801. And so far, it seems much heavier on bottom than on top, but top is still decent.. Also still have very high temps if I run the SC8 with the body on..
If the B52 has even more power and especially top-end than the A52, I'm definitely interested.. Couldn't care less about run-time.. |

Any pics of these new engines? I raced my A52 for the first time yesterday with the 801 pipe. The motor performed great had awesome power tons of bottom end. Had 2 flame outs in heat race changed from OS P3 plug to Werks 5 plug and problem solved. Too bad its may be my last race of the year with it. I Look forward to getting another one of these mills for next years season.

Heres a pic of external veiw of the B52, nothing of the internals that I can find. External the only thing changed is the cooling head.
I ran my Argus yesterday in its first race and I seemed to have a ton or speed and torque with just 1/2 throttle. Though the engine performed great I was chasing traction issues at the track all day. |
Any updates on new Argus motors? I assume they use the same carb. But do they all come with just one restrictor and what size?

Restrictors are still just the 8mm same as before. They will ship with a T3 plug included. We had a chance to run the new motors over the weekend, they were still too new to make proper comparisons against the A52, our team drivers preferred to stick with their A52 after practice as they hadn't quite loosened up enough. I ran the A5 on finals day and liked it, the bottom seemed a little smoother than the A52 but still plenty low down and top end was good also, fuel economy didn't appear to be any better but as i said they are yet to fully loosen up.
Unsure about the B52 just yet, will have to drive it for myself, this was the tightest of the 2 motors, The A52's were screaming, they were as fast if not slightly faster than any engine we raced against  |

Until we map out the timing numbers on the new engines we really have no idea what they are similar to. Number of ports dont tell that much alone on how an engine will perform. But based on the quality and perfromance of the A52 im guessing the new mills will be a killer addition to the Argus line.

We have found the 7mm to be the best all round for truggy, and 6.5 or 7 for buggy. 0801 or go 2072 pipe are good but will be trying the Alpha 2090 pipe soon
|
Very keen to hear more about the B52.. Keep us posted..
|
Any updates on the A5 and B52? How is the testing going?
|
sorry nothing new to report this end, bad weather has prevented any track time, i am planning on getting some more tanks through it this weekend weather permitting!
