Had a nice showing last weekend at CVR raceway for the 2nd round of Nitro Nights. Qualifying was shaky as I am still messing with the set up on my D812 (second race with it) and qualified 5th with my A5. Q'd 7th in Truggy (transponder issues first qual, FINALLY fixed for second).
Finished 4th in the buggy. Track has a nice long front straight and no one is gaining on the A! Finished 1st in Truggy A! The R8 is still coming in, but was a solid beast! Hands down best motor I have ever run. I did not have to touch the needles all night, and ended up putting a lap on the field. The power this thing puts down amazes me everytime I run it, and, as it is getting close to the 1 gal mark, is still coming in and it's exciting to see how it will run each race!! |

Will see we both have the same cars lol I got a modded r8 for buggy with the back plate and crank fill done. Made it to 4 tanks today after work gonna hit the track with it the weekend if I can get some more fuel in it. At least 4 more tanks. I had a couple of bug in my d12 which caused me to take dead last in the a amain after the bump up but I had a traction roll problem servo screw not in on the steering side. And it seem I got a bad rx battery so I had to take one out of my other car. I hope I get a great show this weekend.

Maybe this was discussed already, I haven't got the patience to sift through 117 pages but, the Argus looks an aweful lot like the Ofna Force motors. Is there any truth to this or just coincidence? The Force .28 is a 5 port with a plastic body carb as is the Argus.

No. Nothing to do with Force.
Argus are cousins of Alphas. |

Should I be concerned paying under $100 for a brand new one on ebay? That seems fairly cheap for a motor that's being hyped up the way these are. Are these ebay motors knock-offs?
|
Which engine specifically are you looking at? If it's really an Argus, and it's really new, then yeah, it's a great deal...
|
Hopefully the link works. Its the .21 with pullstart.
I swear its almost a mirror image of the old Force .28 I have. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/HB-New-ARGUS-...item27e60bcd7e |
Oh, a pullstart engine.. No comment on those. They're not really from the race engine line.

I didnt notice any other Argus motors on ebay. They have the .21 and .28 with pull starts, i didnt see anything else. I dont have a box so its pullstart or nothing for me anyway.
|
You ought to get a starter box if you have an 8th scale buggy or truggy. Pullstarts don't belong on 21's (or bigger engines either IMO..)or in buggies.
|
The bottom two in my search are Argus's race engine. The top two are Argus but my guess is they aren't held to the same standards as the race line.

Will my 11 year old took 3rd place in truggy over the weekend. He could have had first but he just made to many mistakes. I on the other hand came in dead last with the r8 over the weekend. Got hit by same guy 3 times every time I climbed bavk up to 3. My buggy took a big beating from this fellow so I gave him some words.
