OK, ran the RB FIre 11 yesterday and put about a 1/2 gallon on it after Neal's break in. Now I KNOW why its called "FIRE". The engine screams and power is unreal. After running the CRE P5 in my buggy, I thought no other engine can top it. Well found out yesterday the the Fire is a step above. I used a nova long needle carb on it as per Neal's suggestion and had smoother power delivery all around. Ran it on Byron's 30%/9 fuel on a Ofna 086 pipe. Tried a 2058 on it and BOOOOYA! The engine screamed higher and power delivery was even smoother. Was getting close to 9 mins on a 7.5 restricter. Engine sounds a little different than the P5's and is a little quieter but screams super high. Hard to describe the sound. Awesome engine though and now I have another option for buggy OR truggy for when the track condition changes. This engine should be well suitable for both buggy and truggy.
Thanks again Neal and John! Only negative is the orange head, wish it was purple  |
Neal do you still hand fit the pistons to engines? Also do you test run any modded engines?

Wanted to post a stupid mistake yesterday my serpent CB broke I understand the serpent brand has issues. Well I got my CB mixed up it dawned on me from frank prior posting. I'm running a CRE bonito 086 M2c two. 95 two 1.0 springs with Byron's 30 9 oil. My clutch bell was a 16T stock is 13T never had issues since it was balistic only time it would bog for a second was when it was cold or when I stopped for a few other then that it pulled super hard actually pulled a few wheels yesterday coming around from a back double onto the back stretch. Nesh can confirm the bottom end and top funny part I placed an order last night at amain was planning to go up one tooth to a 17CB. I know some people will think yeah right but the serpent truggy ran so good it never dawned on me actually ran the same setup for last months big race placed 2nd amain . I will post a picture but Nesh can confirm CB and performance and other local guys reading this.
All I can say is simple wow what motor can do this well the cre bonito my friends funny story for sure I'm a dumb ass got mixed up with serpent buggy that uses a 16t CB. I have a 16 CB mounted now in my truggy after I replaced the broken one will take a picture of that one also. |

Loving my p5. Just such a smooth powerband. You have to try to drive badly with this baby. Would love to try out a werks b2 with a nova carb.

Ha Ha! I knew it! No way you could pull up on me the way you did...Bonito vs Bonito! I knew you geared up but never thought you geared up THAT much! Man, 3 teeth up and the Bonito was still shreading tires on the bottom end. NO wonder that thing kept revving and pulling, was scratching my head and many nights without sleep . Never heard of that kind of performance from a .21 pulling a truggy. Even a .25/.28 is unbelivable. CRE Bonito...still impressing me the more I see it run. Good one Jay. :sneaky: |

i'm looking to get a Nova engine for my truggy. Wondered why not, i'm getting a Serpent S811T, lets start all new, also the engine
I have been running a Werks B5/2013-2058 and love it, never had a problem with it and it runs good. But i want to try something else. Heared alot about the Bonito, so that mill has my interest, but what will be the diferences with a Werks B5? Also will a Bonito run good with a 2058 or 2013 pipe? How is the bottom & top end from the Bonito? Like to hear about this mill Neal, I've read all your pages on this subforum, and i know you have all the knowledge there is. Can you pass me the info i need to choice between the B5 or Bonito? After that i can look at modded or not, but budget isent that big.. Thanks |
A CRE bonito runs circles around a stock one - power, delivery, runtime. I have heard the 2058 works ok but the 9886 or 086 pipe really opens it up. The mod engine is miles away from stock. I have been very happy with the bonito in my truggy.
I will have to try the 16cb in the truck :D |

If this engine runs even half as good as the customer service I received during the ordering process, I will be extremely happy!
I still can't comprehend how my motor left Canada yesterday at 4pm and is sitting on my desk in Texas today by 10am.... haha |
