Man it takes forever for the fuel to run out but I'm being easy still fat on the top but Temps are above 195. The bottom is sick when it starts to ramp up hold on this thing doesn't stop. It so impressive the power is there buts its a smooth transition don't know how Neil does it but its insane. Next it the 2058 with ofna header tomorrow i will have a good idea about run time but I would bet 10 mins easily

I'm running werks 6 plug, M2c with weights on the outer rim 1.0 springs all the way around Med hard shoes. Once she drops its going to be hard shoes all the way around to keep temps down.

You can take OS engines out of your signature any day now :sneaky:

It's OK. He's used to me thinning his OS ranks :D

How would a clocked b6 do against a stock bonito in a d8t?

it would likely be stronger..Clocked B5 for sure would be........Clocked Bonito is a whole different story ! As a general rule the mod engines are a fair bit stronger then the off the shelf stock engines...of course with the odd exception depending on engine...

Thanks,

I'm having a tough ass time deciding which engine to get as a race mill for the d8t. I've got an os xzb blue head for practice, and I would like to get a nice powerful and smooth setup for race days. Very pleased with the OS so far, but there are so many good choices out there right now it's hard to decide.

I Am really happy your liking the engine...They definitely have a very refined power delivery, especially impressive when you consider the amount of power it has.....IMO the extra long stroke helps it maintain traction by limiting the acceleration rate of the engines free spool when it breaks traction....Basically preventing it from blowing the tires to kingdom come when it breaks traction...... I have seen the Bonito bite down and pull wheelies in some fairly low grip situations where other engines acted like they were on ice with little forward bite... ....Some way some how the engine manages to find traction, even tho it makes obscene amounts of bottom end torque.....The midrange spoolup you have to be a little careful with, as it gets pretty hairy when it opens up....Personally I really like this engine...its power and power delivery is very unique for a .21 engine ! feels like a mini 28 with a crazy top end.....

Picco P7-R Evo 4

Neil,
Since you have a lot of experience with Picco engines:

I bought a Picco P7-R Evo 4 Edo modified (= factory modified) for dirt cheap.
As far as i can see the "Edo modified" means it has a more agressive silicone filled crank, work done on the sleeve (teardrops -maybe timing?) and is handmatched with aligned conrod.
Seems piston and liner are matched nicely, makes good compression and not too much pinch. Looks like it won't need a very long break in.

I'm planning on using a Sirio #6 turbo buggy plug in it.

What is the correct headclearance for 25%? It's at 0.60mm atm.

Best pipe to use? I have a Picco 2046 that is supposed to be a good match according to the factory. However a lot of people seem to like the 086 aswell on this engine. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Hey Neil, I have been wondering about this for awhile now......

What do you recommend gets done with the fuel sitting in your engine when you are finished racing for the day? Do you run the engine until it cuts out? I know I have seen people say this can harm your engine because it briefly runs in an ultra lean condition, but at the same time, I've seen plenty of people comment that you should never leave fuel in your engine once you are done for the day. I am a little confused as to what is the right thing to do.

I use my thumb or index finger on the flywheel and shut my engines down......then I leave the fuel in the engine and thats it......... If I am storing an engine I dismantle and clean, assemble then squirt in some Tajima oil, then wrap in cellophane ! But I use fuels that leave a oil residue, so I have little fear of rust.....

My rod snapped on my Discovery 5 port. Anyone ever had one go like this? Only has 4-5 gallons on it.

There also no metal shavings either.

Wow now that's what I call a snapped rod. I think I should pass my nickname animal on to you. Ive never seen a clean break like that
