Word of warning for new picco 21 boost engine & pipe combo owners, i had to richen the L.S.N 2 1/2 turns from factory, richen H.S.N 1 full turn just to get it to idle right with our winter weather 12 degree's the factory settings where way to lean.....using the P5TH hot turbo plug

What clutch set-up are you using?

My Picco was a bit on the rich side out of the box, but the one my friend has was spot one at race tune out off the box ;-)

Don't get worried about needle settings they are just base settings to start from. Everyone has different setup in car, fuel, driving style and that no two engines are a like

Well must say very quick postage purchased on Friday night and arrived @ my door 8:15 this morning, Just one Question like i stated i got the Boost pack was wondering did any one else get a glow plug in the kit ours dident come with one...

Just looking at it the quality and workmanship is quite high and i like the way the exhaust gaskets works not like the other brands they look like they should last a little longer.

NO plug in mine either but thats normal for the cheaper picco range, once you go top end they come with a P5TH plug installed.....

I also find that each picco i have had that here in australia they always are lean at factory settings but on the other side of the world they are right on....

Funny thing but just what i have found with each on i have found....

I run a maxlife ally shoes with 2 x 1.0 and 1 x 1.1 mugen springs in my set ups

I run the first tank just heat cycling the motor getting to 100c then kill it and put the piston to bdc, repeat this for 1/2 a tank so maybe 4 cycles then hit the ground for two tanks of 1/4 throttle driving, then 2 tanks of 1/2 throttle driving, then 2 tanks of 3/4 throttle driving then tune it for the track....

About seven tanks ( 1 LTR ) then race it for another 4 litres just a little rich before the true power comes to life and the run time improves then lean it out and hold on......

Well plugs in hand and every thing ready started the run in today, Boost ran flawless fattened it up a little just to be sure. managed to get 5 tanks through and the boost still has mechanical pinch, I found with the speed that after the 5th tank it started t loose the pinch. Will put more through it tomorrow.

Good to hear the plugs arrived nice and fast and the break in has started, how are you finding the engine heat unit over all, they look awsome just wish they had a field unit that runs of batteries instead of a power supply......

The com. heat unit is great for breaking in the engine, Put it on 20min's before and your hole engine is ready to fire. I used to stand there with a heat gun for the break in procedure now i can continue working and have the break in process going right next to me. I had to get a step down transponder from 240 to 110v but Dick smith has a great range of them and i have a nice small one.
