Hello guys, great forum! After much reading its obvious you guys are pro at this. I want to repower my 9.5 MBX with some quality power and with my limited knowledge have a few engines in mind. The Boost is an amazing $199 complete with a pipe and header so its almost top of my list. So here goes:

Picco Boost set $199

Novarossi Plus 21-5 $250 - ?pipe?

O.S. 21VZ-B V-Spec #13895 $240
T-2050 Tuned Pipe $140 }almost $400! I could buy two boosts!

any other suggestions would be great, thanks

I really want to buy a agama A8 and here is the only where i find informations about the car becouse in brazil none has this car yet, i think i will be the first one ...

I have already bought this picco boost engine, and i was searching which glow plug i should use, and i saw that u guys are using turbo plugs, but at OFNA´s web site they say that the picco boost uses standard plugs....

have a look here: ofna.com/picco-boost.php

Picco Boost is good, 2 gallons and running very strong. I really like the bottom punch, lacks a little top end but nothing major. Good fuel Mileage.

Before that I had bought a Werks B5. W/ 1/2 gallon through it, nothing but problems. Couldn't idle and phantom flame outs. Just don't tell Ron I said that. I was really looking forward to the B5 but you can't run something that won't stay on.

Lol, I hear ya on that! Good thing that the couple thousand B5's that are floating around in other peoples hands don't have that issue All joking aside if you still have the engine and need some help PM me your # and I'll give you a call to work through the tuning. It's really basic with these engines but if you get out of whack as with any motor it can get a little confusing.

I don't think the tuning on a B5 should be much different from any other .21 engine, but Let me dig it out and mount it on my buggy, once I get that going I'll pm you my #.

I have a friend running a boost, he switched to the picco 2072 pipe and said the motor really came alive, with plenty of mid-top speed

Your right, it should not be any different than any other engine which is why if you are having problems then either your needle settings are way off or there is something else wrong with the engine, fuel tank or what have you. In any case this is the Picco thread so lets get it back on track. If you try out the engine again and have any issues drop me a line and I'll do my best to work through them with you.

Regards,

Ron

I found the boost needed around 8 tanks to loose the mechanical pinch and to develop a nice pop when turning the flywheel. Give the Boost 4-5 tanks rich then start to lean the top out when happy with it work on the bottom, I found the Boost likes a slightly rich bottom end and a leaner top end....... The Original Picco 2046 chokes the Boost i found the Go Tech 2072 really woke the Boost up....
