Just purchased the drake edition p5. Super excited to see how it performs compared to the two other engines I have in my arsenal, mito 4 and the Clio. Just wondering how the 14.5mm crank is gonna change the powerband of the engine compared to the Clio. The only thing I'm worried about is scraping up that awesome looking calling head…

I am looking for a new engine for my buggy and I was looking at the Novarossi engines and saw the Top Elite 5 for 135 dollars. Right now I am on a budget so I am looking not to speed to much, actually planning not to go over 300 dollars, but honestly I am wondering if it is worth it to purchase 1 engine over 2 Top Elite 5 and just really run and take as much as I can from the Top engines.
So I am looking for advice on what to do and buy. Also I am thinking on the Drake version, but once again the dilemma of getting 1 engine or 2 engines for the same amount of money.
Please let me know your feedback on the Top Elite 5 and also what pipe and manifold you guys recommend for a small/tight and dusty track.
Thanks for all the help in advance.

The Elite 5 is a fine mill and would work good on the type of track you describe. I probably sound like an Elite 5 fanboy by now lol, but it's a nice engine. Basically a p5 with the cnc domed piston like the Clio and a slightly different crank. 2096 would be a good pipe for it, especially on a low bite dusty track.

Thanks for the feedback. I was planning to use the 9901 pipe that I used to use with my Maxy Cinco.

The 9901 will work good too. If you've got one of the curved headers you might even want to pick up one of the short square headers like the 41001 as an extra tuning option. The 41001 will work good with a pipe like the 9901 and give you a little more mid and top end.

Hello I have a doubt regarding this Novarossi Plus 4T this engine still continues to be a good choice for leisure and some regional competitions?
And here in Portugal to is a very good price € 246 offers:
Novarossi Plus4T
Carburetor glass of 6mm, 6.5mm and 7mm
Escape Novarossi NR-51018 EFRA 2084 (3 cameras / enhanced)
And I have a RB 92mm Long curve.
Good or bad???

Almost 5mm new, less than 4.92mm wont be worth rebuilding imho. Depends on self preferences

In my experience the crank pin works fine, meaning until problems start to ocurr, down to 4.82-4.84 measured on the same cheap-ass digital calipers I have. (Problems meaning = rod snaps or throws bottom bearing and punches hole in your case)
4.92 to me sounds just fine, little or no wear at all. The important thing is really that the pin is round. If it's not round there's no point in using it any further.
4.92 you could easily run that for 6 to 8 gallons no problem.

Well, I decided to try the 9886/41001 pipe and header combo on the Elite 8 Off in my truggy and WOW! I can't wait for tomorrow to go give it a proper run. Just ran it around in the back yard and man it sounds and goes awesome! Not too sure how well its going to work on our dusty loose track
It just sounds sooo mean
