Tuning HSN first, long WOT runs on pavement. Once the top end runs "clean" I've leaned it out another hour or two.

I seem to always struggle tuning a Novarossi. All my other OS engines, Samaurai, FX tune with ease and run strong all day. I can never get my Novarossi to come back in to a nice steady idle for 10secs then drop like my other engines. If I do get to that point I get a lean bog on the low end once the engine warms up nice and hot at the track.
I tune only when the engine is hot, and chassis is saturated... I feel like there is a different method to tuning a Novarossi.. Or maybe they just don't return to a idle as nice as other engines....
usually a hanging idle is too lean on the HSN.... run the HSN as rich as possible that will still allow it to clear out..that extra leaning 1 or 2 hours is a possible issue.... first sign of a lean HSN is a hanging idle

Long LSN carb will let most ppl suffer from lean bog, usually suspect LSN but for this carb, make sure HSN is rich enough for full range of rpm

Hey guys, is it recommended to run a hotter plug with a modded engine given the extra fuel flow?

I run the CTG6's in my plus 4 and Fusion X5 for almost all weather conditions. They were both tuned/tweeked by Monty and run great on the normal plug.

It is advisable to use hotter plug for break in/colder temp/low nitro, also when ur tune is on rich side, nothing to do with a stok or moded engine

Yes

The Fusion X Line (Novarossi) come with a No5 plug fitted for this reason, Helps them run a bit smoother when they are often rich tight and grumpy

Some information in internet is misleading, just take it as a guide/reference. You may need to do some testing to confirm those information...

Take things as suggestions with a grain of salt and test for yourself

Hi guys! New to the Nova side of things.

Ive got a BT4 with just a bit more time on it than the break in period. Have the 9901 pipe as well. Couple ?'s:

-What carb insert should I start with?
-What are the factory needle settings should I need them?

Thank you!
