Rossi S42BX question....

Just picked up a slightly used s42bx. I'm looking for recommendations on glow plugs....long/short? Brand? Hot/Med? Any help would be appreciated!

Im assuming that you mean S421BX. That should be a turbo plug engine. Standard is a C6 plug from Novarossi, or an Odonnell 97T would be a good choice as well.

Keep Off 7

I ran this engine for one race season and it has like 2 1/2 gallons through it. It's starting to shut off after I bring the car in and it idles for like 1 to 3 secs. has a littl pinch you can feel. Plenty of Bottom end and top end is still present in the engine. I must admit I probably ran it to lean in the first season as I was new to Novarossi engines. Is it worth the rebuild or should I just buy a new engine? I tried raising the idle and richening lsn which worked for awhile while and the engine was idling kind of high but after a 20 min run (refueled of course) I stop the car and it shut off again. Brand new clutch was just installed as well. Any insight fellas

Was given a P5XLT with 6+ gallons. It seems to run ok and tunes good. Anything I can do to help keep the engine life going? Don't know if it helps but running Flashpoint 30%.

Try reduce d head shim if u running with 25% nitro, usually 2 to 3 gallon is expected if tuned for extreme power. Try fuel with castor/synthetic might help but if still have compression.

Anyway since is only 2 gallon +, i believe d crank pin still good so just get a repinch instead of rebuild, new conrod after repinch will do the trick. Hope it helps

I ran VP power master fuel most of the time then I switched to Byron. Both 30%. I switched from the VP because even though lots of smoke was visible the engine still seemed to be running extremely hot.

if you went from VP to byron race, a retune will be needed for sure..

I think prolonged lean run resulted in premature ejaculation

In that case would a resize be sufficient? Or would I need to change bearings as well?
