Is this the correct one http://www.amain.com/Boca-Bearings-1...-compatibility.

Neat new clutch..:

(maybe old news? Dunno'...)

Or, on second glance, is it just a rebadged Fioroni (like a couple others - PSR, Sirio, Precirotate etc..)??

That's a lot of money, you could buy 2 Avids for that price. Not sure if the quality is better with the Boca but the Avids work great.

Jamie do you need those bearings to race this weekend? If you don't maybe just wait for Monty and see what he recommends. He can change them for you.

Hey yall! TGIF!! For all you Nova experts and gurus, I have a Nova Keep Off 7 that has a couple gallons on it. It has been using OS plugs- i kno i kno :) If you had to choose for best all around performance and reliability would you run the P3, 4 or 5?

If running in a Nova you want P4 for everyday use and P5 if it's really really warm outside.

Also, can one of you guys provide me with the skinny on the idle gap for Novas? I hear 1mm I hear .7 I hear .5. What should i set it too? I have it at about .9mm right now.

Another thought:
How come more guys dont dial in the tune as much as possible on the box with the filter off so inside the carb can be SEEN!! So now you can see the idle gap during the tuning process and dial in the LSN that way with the pinch test to get really close. Now you can know for sure youll have the LSN at a good tune and the idle gap set correctly then you can put filter on and drive the track tuning the HSN and dial the low end and idle in again a bit more

Because that is a recipe for dirt to get in the engine.

You set your gap with the filter off in a clean environment. Then tune with the filter on properly at the track. Tuning on the box is only a starting point. Being on the track is a totally different animal. Hope this helps!

And P3 plugs are too fragile. On the other hand I normally use O'Donnell 77T plugs in my Novas when i practise. It will idle forever and no flame out after refueling as it attents to do with Novarossi #6 plugs, if you are not on the throttle right after you release the lid

Sounds like I need to explain, my point for that method is to be sure that the tune is at optimal balance, meaning not having an overly high idle due to an overly rich lsn or the opposite with an idle gap too small with an overly lean lsn. If tuning the lsn and idle with filter off in obviously a CLEAN area thats a given, then you'd know that the idle gap is correct not too large and not too small and with that, then being able to dial in the lsn achieving a proper lsn setting not overly rich or lean. With filter off you can verify this with the idle gap, tune in the lsn then once complete put the filter on and finish tuning at track.

You make the tuning thing waaay too complicated sn47. Go out on the track with a skilled tuning person and learn from her/him.

Chris Reilly 09-14-2014 06:08 AM

If you measure your idle gap and set everything back to factory settings. Then tune until it runs right. if you follow this video you will be fine.

Basic tuning start with rich, get the idle right then fine tune. Idle gap can vary so listen to the engine sound.

Tips: .5mm/.6mm/.7mm/.8mm idle gap, you measured by special tools? So go with the sound/observation, dont let ppl fool you by saying bla... Bla... Bla
