Are you saying this: Novarossi 41005 Long Off Road Manifold [NVR41005] Lemme know...I need bottom end on this track. Short run ups, not a lot of need for top end.

I need bottom on my Truggy/Bonito, I wanna keep the 9853 pipe.

Just wanna know if the NVR41005 - Novarossi 41005 Long Off Road Manifold

OR the

NVR41020 - Novarossi 41020 Long Smooth Flow Off Road Manifold is the best combo...

9886/41001 or 41019 are by far the most dynamic and punchy combo I have run on Nova engines. When I put the 41021 with the 9886 it killed the total performance.

we just put one of those pipes on my modified RB BXR and it was awesome !!! seriously woke the engine up........... The BXR has very high crank timing and it didn't seem to wake up on any other pipe, even the 2058 was only mediocre, but one we put the 2041 onto it it became an animal .....just night and day difference from any of the other pipes we ran............... So this has me wondering if the person who did your P5 added a bunch of crank timing....As that could make very picky on tuned pipe................... Also another oddball pipe combo that works with over timed cranks is the 2035 on a 41001 .....

Re: my bottom end punch issue once the motor came up to race temp. I ended up finding it was the .4-.35mm idle gap on the purple mizer, this all equaling a very lean lsn. It's now 1/8 of a turn larger than .5mm and my BTT WC is back to its former self.
All this brings me to the the question of "how do you determine the correct idle gap?" A on-road racer explained a method of pinching the fuel tube while the engine is at idle and counting to 4 from memory, what's other ways?

Thanks
Michael

pretty much what you did is how you tell.....generally speaking I set the idle gap to 0.5 mm as a baseline.......I then tune the HSN and then I tune LSN...and as I am dialing in those needles I will make adjustments to the idle gap if it is needed..........The key is you can't establish your needle settings based off your idle gap.....but rather your idle gap should be based around your needle settings.....`By the sounds of it you had a too lean LSN and your engine was going lean once it was heat soaked.....Typically you should have had some audible cues that you were too lean, but sometimes they can be hard to pickup when other cars are running......

I have a P5 with JP3 pipe and I'm only getting 7 minutes a tank. It's tuned well and I took it easy on the throttle and leaned it out a little more. It pulls in around 230 degrees. It doesn't sound to be too fat. 6.5 mizer Any ideas?

7 min is badddddd , would just about bet your lsn is much richer than it should be

some tracks , weather conditions , layouts , dirt types and throttle control have a very dramatic effect on overall runtime
