NitroRC.com Custom Fuel Blend Recipe:

According to the figures you just gave us, your current fuel has, 30% nitro content and 9% oil content, leaving 61% methanol.

You have indicated that you wish to increase your oil content by 6% to a new total of 15%

In order to accomplish this you will simply need to add 8.8 ounces of castor/synthetic oil to your 128 ounces of fuel.

When you're done, you should end up with 136.8 ounces (1.07 gallons) of newly blended, custom fuel.

Custom Blend Results
Starting Nitro: 30% - - - - - - - - Ending Nitro: 28.1%

Starting Oil: 9% Add oz Oil: 8.8 Ending Oil: 15%

Starting Mthnl:61% - - - - - - - - Ending Mthnl: 56.9%

Just used that calulator,

Pretty fun stuff.

But since I was dorking out with it, I figured I see what 200cc's would be in oz's and it came out to 6.76xxxxxxx. So I fugured I plug in the numbers until I hit that oz number or as close to it as I could. According to the calc. the final oil package came out to 13.60-13.64 with 6.7 oz added. I guess it wouldn't calc. any thing past one decimal point in oz's added. And the percentage increase was only 4.6-4.64%.

Got an N21r in a trade, was wondering if this is a good engine to push a 8ight T?

What is a good .21 engine from novarossi? I have been looking into the plus21-7xlb. I am new to nitro (currently run a 1/8E) and am looking for a good racing engine for a serpent cobra 811 2.0.
Thanks

I highly recommend one of the plus 4 family engine sin buggy-

The new keep off 21-4 is a great choice, or any of the others, plus 4btt, plus 4c team, etc

The keep off 21-7b is also a good choice, more powerful though. Can't really go wrong with either, but for buggy my vote is a plus 4 engine

Any of the Plus 4 engines or a P5XLT. For a pipe I would run the 2096/41021 on most tracks. I have a 9901 too, but it stays in the bag all the time.

pipe decision

Hey guys I have a question about deciding on what pipe/header combo on my Plus 21 4T. I am getting back into the hobby after a couple of years. When I left I was running great with my plus 21 4T with the 9901/41030 combo. I have been reading about the 2096/41021 and was wondering does it get better mileage and more power? also what plug is the best for me being Im from GA.

many people love the 2096/41021..but for me it feels way too lazy on the bottom end..... Just seems to take all the snap out of the engine......... I much prefer the 9901/41001 or the 9886/41001.....

Maximo is correct as far as the 9901 having more snap on the bottom end. I tried the 9901 with the 41021 and it limited the top end, I tried a Orion 2058 pipe on mine, that really woke it up all around. Then I tried the 2096/41021 and yes it did remove some bottom end but gained more top over the 2058 and I gained run time, approx 30 seconds. The 2096 works well for me because it smooths out the bottom end and allows the buggy to gain traction for short run ups. I don't have a bunch of unnecessary wheel spin coming off the line or out of slow corners. I also get an electric like mid range. I may try the 9901/41001 combo but for now the 2096/41021 is my ticket.

and for you plug I would start with a 6 now and then in the summer go to a 7.

thanks for your input guys I think I might try the 2086/41021 pipe combo. I have been out of racing for a while anyways problably dont need anything too fast anyways and prob could use the gas mileage to my advantage.

got a crazy question about the p5xlt.Do they have different lowspeed needles on older or newer versions. Here's the reason I ask my lowspeed needle after tuning is in from flush approximately a hole turn and I have 2 friends that have a p5xlt and the other has the maxi.both there needles are close to flush. We are all using the same pipe and fuel.I just find it odd that our needles are so far off.

Lots of things...what is your current setup? What chassis, Pipe, header, plug, clutch, Venturi, and fuel?

Common overlooked issues depleting runtimes are engine/carb leaks, old pipes with tons of carbon build up, drivetrain drag, and obstructions in fuel system.

I am running an intech br-6 (light car like mbx6r), 9901 pipe, 41029 header, c6 plug, 3 shoe clutch with all aluminum shoes, 6.5 venturi, and byrons 30% nitro and 11% lubrication and i get like 9 minutes with no problem but some guys get over 10 so im just interested

Sometimes a larger Venturi will help mileage because you get more power, therefore not needing to go full throttle as much. If your engine has less than 2 gallons ran through it, then its possibly still breaking in. Better fuel mileage with freshly broken in engines. A 2096 will usually yield mor runtime than 9901 but not much. If you are tuning by temps, shoot for 270-280 range. The low cooling heads seem to operate primo at those temps.
