Hey Neil, I drove Kawaynne's plus 4 you did for him at a race a couple of weeks ago and MAN, it was uncontrollable. I couldn't get it to go straight and then his pressure line fell off a few times. It was a nightmare!!

I recently drove it after he made some changes to his car and OH MY GOD!! That was one of the best feeling car/engine combos I've ever run!! I could go around the whole track at quarter half throttle, make all the jumps, and scream down the straight. It was absolutely AWESOME!!! Next time we'll have to leave the system on so we can hear lap times, and see what runtimes we get. In any case, I definitely felt faster!! Can't wait to see what it's capable of doing on a bigger track!

that is awesome to hear my friend !.......I also love the way the Clocked Plus4T feels on the 9886SS/41001..of course that is as long as the chassis has the setup to handle the power......if not its quite the handful LOL....Anyways good to hear you liked the feel of the engine and I look forward to hearing how it does on a big track too......

Clocked vs moddified

I read people taliking about Clocked engine, what is the different compared to moddified engine? I have only raced with standard engines out from the box but will be very interested if someone can make the engine have longer run time.

Clocked is modified. The post above yours is Neal and he does the engine work.

runtime usually comes from how good of a tuner/driver you are, and how lean your willing to run the engine........You can get great runtimes from almost any engine if you know what your doing, modified or stock.....

As for your other question it really depends on what you consider modified...Against what was traditionally called " modified " in the industry my Clocked engines are quite different...Generally speaking the traditional modified engines the work is focused around smoothing out the flow pathways of the mixture, adding guide channels to the exterior of the ports (Fangs, scallops etc ), turbo scoops on the crank face, polishing the sleeve...Usually very visible to the naked eye........ My Clocked engines have almost no changes you can see with the naked eye, as all my work is focused on the ports themselves, altering not only the port timings but also the port angles and volumes...Pretty much unless you know what you are looking for my work is almost invisible.......Far less impressive to look at then "Traditional" mods..........However in terms of affects on performance my style of modifications deliver far more radical changes to the engine, with far greater gains in both power and RPM........Of course this is all relative to how you define the terms.....

Has anyone used protek engine bearings? Any good? Trying make a cheap practice engine. I have a n21r block and a crank. Going to get a p5 piston and sleeve to put in it. Who's makes a good screw driver to get rear screws loose?

mkorn 02-04-2013 04:17 PM

I have always used ProTek bearings when I have a stock bearing go bad. I have not had a problem. They always work great.

The RB bearing puller was one of the best tools I have ever gotten. It makes changing engine bearings really easy.

Hello everyone, you all helped me with my first question, I appreciate those who chimed in. I'm still walking the path of learning to tune my Bonito .21. I read someplace or was told, I don't recall which so I'm hoping someone can set me straight on my next question. Here it is, if the idle doesn't came back to down to it normal setting fairly quickly and hangs high for a second or so I'm lean on the bottom end right ? Learing all this 1/8 of a turn here 1/4 turn here can really leave me scratching my head at times :) That's half the fun of it most of the time. Thanks again for any help !
