Default Hmm

I remember Mugen had a .12 Nova engine for on road and nitro 2wd trucks. That was a nice engine. But with OS making their Ninja I would be suprised if they brought another brand into the mix, although I would like to be suprised.

I would also think that if Mugen wanted the Nova it would have a Mugen name on it...... But i spouse the New Year will tell....

Looking at the mbx7 on a-main and the pictures they have posted show a Ninja in it. Very tempting to preorder a mbx7

What is the best pipe for the Plus4-btt? I have a 9901 but it seems to lack top end even on small tracks.

I really like the 2096 on my plus 4 btt. it smooths out the bottom end, provides a great feeling mid range and a great top end. The mid range feels punchy. The bottom end performance can feel soft because it doesn't have tire shredding performance but it actually leads to better lap times and better fuel mileage because it is so smooth.

Some guys like different headers but I run the 41021 on mine.

I had the 9901 in the beginning and even tried a 2058 which was better then the 9901 and then got a 2096 and havn't looked back yet.

put a 41001 manifold on that 9901 and you will see more top end...Put a 9886 on that engine and you will see a pile more top end..... 2096 is also good, but on my track doesn't have enough bottom end grunt... My track is ultra grippy, on a slick track it would be fine...In the end your track conditions will play a big role in what pipe/header combo you will like...I run on a ultra high bite clay track with very short technical sections, so we need all the low end power we can get , and we can use every bit we can find...I notice what many here consider to be the best combo's are just too mild for most guys in my conditions...So for a BTT I am recommending a 9886/41001 or 9901/41001..I find these to be stronger and more dynamic combos as opposed to the 9901/41021 and 2096/41021 ..

2096/41001 is very good on my loose and small track. 9886/41001 is the most dynamic combo and my favorite when I want to let my engines eat!

Neal, Have done pipe testing on non-modified stock engines?

I run the 21-4 in a K buggy with the 9901/41001, all I can say is Oh My God! Its like I switched fuel, and went to 60% nitro. 2096/41021 is smooth, have not tried the 2096/41001, I will try that combo.
Neal, what pipe gives the best fuel economy?
That would be the 21-4, with pipes I just mentioned.

I usually can tune all the pipes to get about the same mileage.... tho track conditions and driving style can have some effects on the best pipe for mileage..... but as a general rule I can get just as much run time from a 9886 as I can from a 9901..... Its all in the the fine tuning of the needles !
