i have problem tuning my engine and so.. my car has no power and now i'm a little frustrated

shimmed a little thicker or thinner?? wich one is preferred. i used 25% nitro and 9% oil
already go for 4 gallon engine

4btt use 24065 carb. 6.5 restrictor 35C ambient c6tgc 9901 pipe and i have 29 and 30 manifold.

how bout the clutch should i use 0.9 /1/ 1.1 for alum shoes helppp is slippery dusty track or should i go with carbon clutch? the track has a high jump all over it. really hard to get proper landing with my current tuning helppppp

Default PLEASE HELP!!!

So, I have a Bonito, new this season, it is stock (stock shimming). I had had a few tuning issues but in the last few weeks it has been good. Yesterday racing club race, 25min, on my last pit stop it died, went to restart and barley started and died gain then would not start. Pit man changed the plug, the engine would start and AS SOON as the igniter was off it would die (even reving!!) finally gave up.

So I let it cool for a bit and with TWO new plugs tried and engine would start and run untill I pulled the glow driver off and it dies...WHAT IS THE PROBLEM!!??!!?? I even left the igniter on for 30 to 45 seconds while runnig and pull it off it dies ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

9% oil in 25% nitro mixture is not much. Be VERY aware not to run lean needle settings!

time to pull the engine apart...there is likely damage of some sort going on

Hey Neal. when I pulled it apart, as I pushed out the crank, a washer lloking thing came off (looked like part or a bearing race)
It seems most of the compression is gone!!

If that's the case then probably the bearing has failed, and parts of bearing has shot around in the piston/sleeve while the engine has been running, and that has killed your compression.

Sorry m8, I think you need a new p/s and bearings!

Piston and sleeve look fine (compression is low) but the engine has had probably 7-10 gallons on it this year. I pulled the bearings out and they look good (all races are there and they turn fine. I WILL for sure put a new front bearing in as I have one, but where do I get a good (but decently priced) rear bearing. There is NO WAY I am going to spend almost $100 for a rear ceramic! I will get the sleeve a pinch and see how it goes

A rear ceramic TKO bearing is like $28.99.
7-10 gallons is probably end of life for a non-team p/s.

Are there any rods cheaper than the R7 that will fit in a P5XLT? I have an engine with about 8 gallons on it that needs a rod and I don't really want to spend $50 on it, would rather invest that towards a new engine.

I will try a pinch, a GOOD pinch from someone reputable, and hope for the best. If not will be time for a new engine

Send it to Ray Aronica @ rayaracing.com. The P/S sealing surface may be damaged and he can revive it to near new compression. He repaired a BTT P/S of mine that I thought was a lost cause when it was damaged after inhaling some dirt. Now I can at least get a few more gallons out of it before a complete rebuild with new internals.

Send it out to Ray A for the pinch. But with that many gallons through it is time for a new rod. Check the both ends of the rod for wear and slop and go from their. You could change the shims and dropped it to .7 That may help. But if you are getting it pinched, leave it at the stock .8

Good luck with it

GO Engine rods are supposed to fit.
