It's an 8ight buggy 2.0.
B5 .21 brand new.

The OFNA box is kinda funny it's almost like it was made for on road cars but I was able to turn the motor/rubber wheel to half ass the setup for offroad.

I can take pics for you tomorrow after work if that helps out, of both the car and the box. I'm new to nitro so I might not be writing/talking about all the terms correctly, pics might help out. I've had this issue with a very lightly used rally b9 engine in the past but the weeks is MUCH stiffer or mch tighter when it comes to the pinch. I can't turn it by hand when it locks up, I have to use a tool to get it past that one point then you can turn it by hand.

I appreciate all the help.

ok, got ya, a buggy. Does the rubber starter wheel continue to spin after the engine seizes?

Yes which sucks cause I don't want to eat through the wheel.

The pinch on our engines is pretty mild compared to others and breaking in our engines is really not that difficult. If needed warm up the engine with a blow dryer, remove the glow plug, put 5-6 drops of after run down the glow plug hole and hit it with the starter box for about 20 seconds spinning it over. Then instal the plug, snug it up then back it off about 1/2 turn and start it on the box. Once it starts tighten the glow plug back up.

If the box (starter wheel) is adjusted properly it will start the engine. If not make sure that the battery is fully charged and that the wheel is contacting the flywheel properly. Normally I don't even bother with any of the stuff above. Just put the car on the box and start it up.

I'll run through all the steps. The only thing I have right now is a hairdryer but I didn't think that would warm it up enough. It's going to be rainy and 50 degrees or so for the next few days so I'll do my best to keep it warm and then try to start it as quickly as I can.

Thanks for the info again guys I really appreciate the time from you all.

First off b5 in a buggy wow! I tried it for a bit and I could never tame it. Too many spin out when needed to jump on the throttle. But I've seen other buggies have good suggest. The 2.0 to me is very twitchy.

Any how sounds like you are breaking in a novarossi engine lol ofna box, 4s and a heat gun and you should be good to go. Once started the motor should idle really good especially if the temp is up. I use foil and go up and down with the idle screw.

If you can try another starter box? Which ofna are you using?

It's all for fun, I'm not going to be actually racing this guy anytime soon. By the time I get it out on a track for something like that I'll have everything under control.

I'm not sure what model box it is, I am pretty sure it's not the right box. I'll get some pics up this afternoon, which I'm hoping will clear up any issue I'm having or will have that you all might be able to spot from seeing them vs. My lack of term knowledge.

We ru a B5 Pro on my 10 year olds buggy. The Buku clutch is a great tuning tool to calm it down. Then sometimes I just limit throttle servo travel, lol.

Werks mugen/durango headers were sent out to dealers a couple days ago as well as http://amainhobbies.com

It may take them a day or two to update thier websights or system to be able to see/order the product

Anyone know where I can get a replacement cooling head for my older B5? Will any others work? I need to do a little cleaning and this is the last on my list.

Good Morning my Werks Pals

I just purchased my B5 last month and finally got around breaking the beast in. I ran about 12 tanks and I hear a weird noise. I can't tell if its a clutch bearing going bad or something internal. This only happens during idle and when I first just start it. I know there was already a discussion about this but I can't find it using the search. Someone point me in the right direction. Thanks B5 group.

After 12 tanks I would look into the clutch as your problem area.. The clutch is a high maintance area. Bearings need replaced very often, along with springs and shoes as needed..

If you go to the first page of this thread, Ron gives a talk thru of the best way to break in Werks engines. I do it his way Everytime.

I believe its on the first page. I just broke mine in last week, 14 tanks and she sounds great. Just make sure you use a heat gun or at least a hair dryer.
