The carb set screw is the one right below the idle screw right. The carb will not come out its crazy!

No offense but it sounds like you are about to do way more damage than you are good. Your two stage idle is simply a result of an incorrect needle setting, more than likely high speed. Your issues removing the carburetor (which you do not need to do to get the bearings out) I'm at a loss about unless you just removed the pinch bolt and left the actual pinch bolt assembly in. The bottom line though is you are replacing the bearings to get rid of some forward/backwards play in your crankshaft which is completely normal and always there. Any time that you assemble a flywheel on an engine you should pull the crank forward and slide the collet down snug to the front bearing which takes up all of the play. So..... in essence you are fixing something that does not need fixing. My concern though is if you are running into issues just taking your carburetor off, what is going to go on when you pull try to pull the engine apart lol? Best bet, just leave it alone and contact me to work through the two stage idle if it is a problem.

haha. I got it off man those carbs are in there tight compared to the hpi engine I took apart, but thats a good thing. The flywheel nut was loose I think thats what the problem was. Thanks for the info
|
when/if you need to take the carb off simply "losen" the pinch bolt a couple turns and then use the allen wrench and "push" the pinch bolt screw which should then let teh crb come loose a couple twist left and right and whalla the carb will come right ouyt eazy peazy  also as ron said 2 stage idle is just a off balance needle setting bro :D no need to go camando on the engine just yet

haha. alright thanks guys

might have to spend some $$ and rebuild my old losi, which I was trying to avoid as I hoped the new one would have turned up by now, but I am real keen to get this motor hummin. Cheers for the great service  |

Its one of the main hobby shops in sydney, not really there fault they cant get hold of the kit from omp the Australian Losi importer, I have also spoken to omp a few times, now I am all but ready to give up and look at other brands |
Ron,
I am so disappointed in the B5 engine. No problems, in break-in and not even a burp in over 5 gallons of fuel. How do you make money when you make a superior product like that? Thank you and keep up the good work! P.S. I can't wait to break in my new one that I have for backup.:) |
