Track update
If only my racing was as good as the B5!!!
The B5 2013 combo in truggy was off the hook. First time out on the track w/ it coming from the TTR 2035. I agree w/ Heidmann on excellent runtimes w/ the 2013. I was running during practice and heard the engine leaning a bit as it came towards the drivers stand. I didn't time it but it'd been a while so I assumed I was running out of gas. I pulled over and came off the drivers stand to retrieve my truggy and it was sitting there still running at a normal idle. I checked the tank and I had at least another lap. With tons of power and speed I am getting well over 10 mins. On my buggy it was the B5 w/ 2057 and extender. I don't know what others were running, but I can tell you everytime I was on the straight, I tracked down whomever was in front of me. Throttle control was definitely needed in order to avoid overshooting the jumps. The awesome power on tap made it very easy to ensure I was lined up for jumps knowing all I had to do was squeeze the trigger to clear anything. Before the B5's I was running a Vspec in my buggy and a Speed in my truggy. Between the B5 and Vspec there's no comparison, B5 all the way in all parts of the rpm range. Vs the Speed I'd say top end is comparable between the two, but B5 performs way better in the infield AND is better on runtime. The scary thing about the B5 is that I know my buggy engine isn't even completely broken in yet. On the truggy I had a good tune and awesome power at Motorama and then all of a sudden I was blubbery rich again.....the engine had fully broke in. I leaned in the top to get the power back and now I had awesome power with awesome runtime. Next time out I'll do actual timing and report back observed times. |

hey i run the ttr-2035 on my b5 in truggy and want to know how much of a difference you felt with the 2013!?! i love the way this combo is and wondering if the 2013 at a rather steep price compared to the 2035 is really worth it...
Ultimately our budgets decide everything, but if you can swing it, get it!!! Under $300 for an Italian engine and matched pipe is still a great value. |

The 2013 has way more power on the bottom and mid than the 2035. Big difference in power........ also The 2013 gives better runtime in a truggy.:) Like I have previously said there is no other pipe that matched the power of the 2013 on the B5.... So Yes, in my opinion and I'm sure a lot of the guys on here will agree its worth the investment. Especially the new pipes are strong so your investment will last a long time:nod: |
dang i know ive asked a couple times about the 2013 and i only do becasue im honestly thinking to myself how can this thing get any better.....!

lol.... Its all good! Like marshon50 said. Its a noticable amount more punch. You just got to try it. Seeing is believing!! A lot of questions come up on pipes and I think a lot of people feel like you do where they are not really buying into the idea that the 2013 and 2057 basically puts out the most power of any other pipe on the B5. While still having top runtime and top end performance. They are so happy with it running pipe X that They like you said , They cant imagine it getting better. But there are a lot of guys on here that did try it and then they saw the BIg difference first hand. BUt if what you are happy with a pipe whatever it may be, then run it.. A lot of it is personal preference as each pipe acts and feels different:) |
Lol, thanks guys I'm stoked to hear about all of the positive results you guys are having racing with the B5! You know it's a lot of work developing an engine, and to an extent it's can be a lot of work at time supporting an engine ;-P but when you hear about how much people really enjoy one of your products it really makes it all worth it! So again thank you guys, even though I have not been posting the last couple of days I have been hitting the thread to read up and make sure that there was not anyone that needed my help.
Regards, Ron |
My personal opinion is quite the opposite of the rest. Ive ran both pipes running a 2013 now. To me the 2035 had more bottom and mid but lacked any top end. The 2013 not quite as much bottom and mid but screams on the top. Like sombody previously said, its all in your preference. For a hundred bucks and some more on the top is it worth it to you. If your running a short track Id stay with 2035 but if you run a track with some long straights then id go with the 2013. If you have the money what the hell another pipe in the old parts box never hurts.........

engine question
are the B5 engine bearings the same size as the B7 or B3?
