Backorder it and make sure to checkout like you are buying it now. Amain wont charge you but, you will be first in line when they get in. I had my shipped to me before they were even listed then as being instock on the website.

Anyone in here run at Revelation raceway or Hotrod hobbies? I could use some people to hang out with on practice days LMAO. B5 should be here tomorrow. Might start break it. I'll probably take a few pictures with it in the x2 for fun. I have to go pick up some diff oil. Need to replace diff gaskets before I fire it up getting a slight leak.

I run at Rev. I'm one of the few Hot Bodies D8 drivers out there.
I always have the HB hat on.

That's my buggy. Pretty bad paint job LMAO. But if you see me come say hi! I'll usually be there around 9pm on tuedays on thursdays depending on when I get done with the racecar I work on. It'll have the B5 in it when you see me out there

I have the 2013 pipe on the engine now and a Big-Boy pipe on the way. Unlike MO and other lucky racers I don't have a track close enough to test at during the week but hopefully next weekend I can try both pipes back to back and give some feedback.

I'll look into the manifold for the new Mugen buggy. It sounds like this is going to be a bit of a problem for all of us that make pipes though!

Scoobie 1 & 2fast2c, thanks I appreciate it. It's hard balancing running a business and being on here but as long as it's helpful I'll try. I know a lot of other industry people read these forums but honestly most of us are a little afraid of getting too active on here because these threads often tend to turn into one of those bash fests that we have all seen too often lol! It looks like everyone on here so far is interested in truly exchanging information and set up information which frankly is also beneficial for me. I've always tried to be active on forums because it gives me a better understanding of what the customer wants, likes or frankly does not like about a product which for em is quite helpful. This gives me a solid understanding of the perception of my products and also how and what I can do to improve them and after all we are are trying to put out the best products that we possibly can! So while you are thanking me, I should be thanking you guys!

smittyusmc, as turbo900rr mentioned go ahead and back order it. If you look up about 5-10 posts before your original message you will see that I mentioned that A-Main is getting in a handful of B5's today. So there is a good chance that if you have an order in place it will get filled out of this shipment!

smb17 and Alan D., if you guys run out at Hot Rods please do not hesitate to ask Kortz for some help tuning your engines if you need it. He runs out there all the time and once you get past the intimidation factor of all of the tats lol, he is really a nice guy. Trust me, if you show up with one of our engines he would be completely stoked and more than happy to help you out. We have some what of a unique relationship, not only does he drive for me but we are also really, really good friends. We have worked together for quite a long time and I'm happy to say that he looks at the development of our engine line almost like it's his own personal little baby! Even if you don't need the help, take the second to say hi and you will at the least have gained a very knowledgeable friend!

I'm not scared of the tats, it's his ability to lap me continuously that scares me lol.
Will do, thanks Ron.

v6shooter 08-27-2009 09:14 PM

Ron, will a b7pro connecting rod fit in the silver case b7 ?

smb17 08-27-2009 09:43 PM

Isn't this the B5 page!?:lol::lol: jk jk

Yeah I'll try to get up to hot rod that's a pretty difficult trip for my but it is doable.

I'm going to try to make it out to the labor day race at revelation to watch some action and see how people get around that track.

My B5 should be coming in tomorrow anyone have any tips I should know about before I get too far ahead of myself?

zJatoRad 08-28-2009 01:52 AM

The support that this thread receives by Ron Hopkins makes me wanna try the B5  GO Engines have been good to me though, I might try one later in the future!

looks similar to my schedule...lol it kinda depends on what Mo does... If he goes to the RAC I'll probably end up going as well... If not the W.V. State Championships is that weekend as well...

I'm going to try everything I can to have my B5 ready for the 5th...

Just thought I would throw this out there...

I picked up the Werks B5 WITH a trinity big boy pipe and I was still cheaper than an O.s Vspec.

Can't wait to see how it runs! I'll be so stoked if it runs really well. Which from the sound of it a lot of people like it.:batman::batman::batman::batman::batman:

Werks 08-28-2009 11:32 AM

Alan D. Lol, I hear you!

V6shooter, sorry about the delay in getting back to you on this but I wanted to double check the part numbers to make sure but yes the B7-Pro rod will work with the older B7 (silver case engine). The specific part number for the rod that you want to order is WRXTL21 070010 and these should be available on-line from A-main.

smb17, thanks for picking up one of our engines! Regarding tips for breaking in etc. I wold just say take a look at the post I put up on how I break in engines and start off with a softer i.e. 1.0 spring set up on the clutch intially. Later you can always increase this if you do not think that you have enough bottom (doubtful). Break in should be pretty straight forward especially the initial first start. I think that our engines are probably some of the easiest motors on the market as far as break in is concerned so it should be a breeze. Remember that it takes about a gallon before the engine is fully broken in so the first couple of races you might notice the engine richening up slightly as you get more fuel through it. This is not a problem, it is just the metal pinch decreasing (this reduces friction and puts less of a load (resistance) on the engine which will cause it to run slightly cooler hence richer). So you might have to make some slight adjustments the first couple times out (like leaning 1-2 hours each time) but once it's fully broken in it will be solid. You will also notice the run times increasing as this process happens too. Otherwise everything should be butter, let me know what your thoughts are once you get some time on it!

zJatoRad, thanks! There are a lot of good engines out there and you should pick a company that you feel comfortable working with. What I think that a lot of companies forget is that when a customer buys a motor it is not a one time purchase (like an airfilter or a set of wheels) it is an on-going relationship over the coarse of ownership through the life of the engine. It's almost like buying a real car, the buying experience might be great and the product might be awesome but if every time you have an issue with the car or want some help, the dealer is a pain to deal with you probably will not be buying that brand again lol!

smitty2802, you can do it!

smb17, lol on the price comparison! It is quite a deal isn't it :D Let us know what you think once you get the chance to run it!

Werks 08-28-2009 01:06 PM

By the way guys, A-Main is showing the B5's back in stock with limited quantities on hand! So if you had a back order in yesterday it should have shipped today and if you were on the sidelines about ordering one because A-main was showing B5's on back order, now is the opportunity to get one of the last ones left in the country!
