So far JS Racing engines are having a very good showing at the 2011 Nitro Challenge, with Trevor Clement putting the .23 Hellfire in the Pro Truggy A-Main, Trevor bumped from the B to the A by only pitting once :)
Chris Wheeler was in the Pro Truggy B-Main and did one lap before hitting the pole under the cross-over, taking him out of the race. Damn Pole :( |

I can't wait till spring. got some experiments to try.

My JS ran great in my truggy at Motorama. I use it with a Dynamite 086 pipe and header. Run time was outstanding! After my 7min main I had better than a 1/4 tank left, probably could have gone 10mins easy. Now if my driving was half as good as the engine was, I would have faired much better on Sunday. I guess that's what happens when you don't drive for almost 2 months prior to such an event.
Thanks again Ed for such a great engine and great product support. |

Stock JS .23 engines now in-stock at A Main Hobbies. The Full Mod and Race Prepped engines should be showing up on the web site this week. |
I'm working aggressively with an American Factory to make our own Glow Plugs, I hope to have these available by the end of the month.
Stay tuned for more info and the chance to receive free samples for testing :) Through out 2011 EBMods will be releasing an American Made line of products. Glow plugs are next on the list, to be followed by clutches. CAD Drawings are complete on the clutches and I'm awaiting on samples to arrive to send to team guys for testing. |
Ed,
I am sure the clutch will be great! |
:Dsounds good you can put me on the list for some of those products. is there 4 shoe in the works I hope .

I just got my race prepped TX-521R .21 engine and have a few questions.
When this engine was broken in at EBMods with the turbo combustion head that came with the engine or was the turbo plug head replaced with a new one before it was packed and shipped? Reason I ask is - I have at least 25 new O'Donnell 97T and 99T glow plugs that I would like to use in this engine, but need to know if the button's plug threads are already "cut" to fit an OS plug. Also, where can I buy or what other engine company's venturi's fit the TX-521R's carb? I'd like to pick up a 6.0mm and 6.5mm venturi to try in this engine. Thanks. |

Not really sure about the glow plug threads being different? The only difference I've found is the angle of the seat area at the base of the plug stem. This is very minimal, and not that critical if you always use the same plug brand. Only if you switch back and forth between plugs that use different seat area will this cause the inside of the button to deform and push in. OS , Novarossi will work. Please don't chock the engine out to much. Carb inserts more or less just change carb response. If you actually get to the point that you decrease to much air you will lose lubrication. |

Can,t wait for the plugs Ed
Let me know Would love to try some:D john b |
Very nice to meet you at Motorama Ed. It was nice being able to put faces with alot names I talk to online. Motors ran great after a little tune up help before you made it in Saturday.
If ya need some testing done, I'm sure Tyler would give stuff a good evaluation. |
hey randy howd tyler do at rama?
|
Not bad. Tyler felt he could have done alot better than he did. His first round of qualifying was his only good round and he needed 2 good ones. He won both bug and trug quals first round with pretty good lap and times. He has never driven on a blown out track like Motorama and made mistakes. I made mistakes too and we both learned alot.
He ended up E-main in buggy, finished 2nd and bumped to D, then he pretty much got punted everytime he tried to make moves to advance and finished 5th. Made D-main in truggy, won it,bumped to C, and lost steering servo and weekend was over. Best part was Kris Moore congratulated him and told him he did an awesome job. That made us both feel better. We both really wanted to do better with Mugen being there. Lots of people told him he did well for only racing 2 years now. Still seams to be ALOT of people who are/get mad because a 10 year old is as fast as he is and they tend to push him around alot on track. He got alot of that last year too. He is about to the point he is not going to put up with it. He yelled at a guy at a race last summer towards the end that kept jumping tubes and trying to take him out. He is very appreciative of all his sponsors help and just wants to run good for them. We can't wait for summer!! I think Ed may have to build us a couple full mods to try out.;) |
I don't wanna hear the word motorama till january lol. that word is jinxed to me:rolleyes:

Thanks Chops.

Thanks Ed!!!
I gotta say the Hellfire is an awesome engine for truggy. I was actually able to gear my truck up one tooth on the spur (not clutchbell) for added top speed without losing any bottom end or run time (10+ minutes). I used a Dynamite 086 pipe, 7mm restrictor and Dynamite #5 plug. I look forward to testing out different things over the next month to see how much more the engine can do. Since this was the last race I'll be sporting the orange and black paint scheme I thought I would post a pic of my truck with the Hellfire in action. From now on though it's blue and yellow... http://gallery.neobuggy.net/2011Race...64_DBdJk-L.jpg |
well I tried anew pipe out on the street the other day it was a losi lst pipe with a 086 header on my 21. It seemed to smoothen the bottom end out and from my watch I was getting over aminute more of run time. I will post more results as soon as it stops raining and I get it on the track.

bump this thread for the awesomeness of these mills

Yo Ed.....I need a motor and a case of fuel.....holla :D

If you guys are looking for a smooth powerband from low to mid, good top speed and awesome run time for the .21, the Dynamite 2081 pipe with a 6mm restrictor is a pretty good combo.
The pipe is pretty inexpensive and I was able to get almost 12 minutes on a tank with it at The Nitro Pit. I still want to test a lot more pipes but for run time I think the 2081 might be tough to beat. If anyone has a 2041 that they don't use and want to sell cheap (or rent out for a weekend... ;) ), shoot me a pm. I would really like to try one out. |

Good luck Ed with your new build/move I hate moving my self couldnt even think of moving a company. |
Few questions?
Ok so I have been planning on running a vspec again this year. This year is a little different as I'm trying to keep it as afordable as possible.
I am looking at either the stock .21 or the race prep. What is the difference. How does the js compare to the os? Also how is the carb on this engine, there are lots of great engines with bad carbs I'm looking at ordering either a dyn 053 or 086 pipe. What would you recommend I live in Colorado springs co and all of our tracks are between4700 and 5700 ft in elevation. I run 40% Byrons prodriver. What plugs do you suggest. Do the odonnel 77t or 99t plugs work as well,'or are the os plugs the way to go. Also any head shimming adjustment needed with my set up. |
The stock .21 comes just like every other engine on the market. The Race Prepped engine is hand built, fully inspected, bearings aligned, etc. And most importantly it's broken in for you, so all you need to do is put it in your car and go race. No need for the headache of breaking it in on your own.
If you're going to buy a dynamite pipe for it, order the 2081 (DYNP5008) before the 053 or 086. The 053 seems to create a weird hesitation on power and the 086 makes the power band hit too hard for buggy. As for plugs you can run the dynamite #4 (xtra hot) plugs to help with the elevation and save some money over the OS plugs. You may need to add an extra head shim as well but with 40% nitro and an extra hot plug it may run fine right out of the box. |

what pipe is good for this motor
|
So the 2081 is the way to go for a buggy? Looking for as smooth of a powerband as I can get.
|
yeah its for my buggy 2081 from who
|
Well with shockers suggestion I ordered up an engine with the 2081 dyn pipe.
Do you guys have a standard needle setting for when the engine is fully broken in. |
