Just Broke Myne in today.
Joe Told me to Run it Figure 8 style Big parking lot, for 45 mins at 0-30% Speed. Without shutting Engine off. So that is what I did. Kept temps At 200 never Above, and lowest were 155. I used a 1/10 tire foam to build n keep heat in. Didnt use a heat gun, said its worthless and now I understand why.(thank you Joe) I think It did or was 4 Full Tanks worth. Thing is still super tight, and Now Time to tune her. Sounds like she is going to be a beast. 7mm Venturi P5 O.S. Glow Plug / Also have a P4 30% Byrons fuel 086 Ofna pipe/ Also have a 9886 which is better??? |

Hi. The locations I would be running this motor if I purchase it is on a track that is tight. Not a lot of time to open up the engine. Occasionally, I would be running at Rescue Just outside of Sacramento, Ca I generally don't push my motors and the seem to last forever.
I also run O'donnell 30% Nitro and have had good success with this fuel. Generally need something with great run times and a lot of bottom end. How does this motor work in this category?? Thanks

I came on this thread a few weeks ago really upset with the performance of my JS Race Prep. I went as far as to call it junk and a paper weight. After rethinking what I was doing and some help from a local racer who really knows motors and tuning I couldn't be happier with this mill. It just flat out rips in my truggy. I have since put another gallon on it and haven't had a single problem. It is still a little cold natured to get started but once you get it up to temp hold on! It has never flamed out one time even at a big race two weeks ago when most everyone was flaming (100+ degrees outside) my JS kept screaming. On top of all of this I can get 12+ minutes in my truggy with the 086 pipe. Not sure how it gets any better than this. With all of the above said I would like to formally apologize for my previous statements about this motor. I was wrong and shouldn't have said the things I said without giving it another chance with an experienced tuner. Now if anyone can tell how to properly reduce the power of this thing I would appreciate it. Waaaay too much power for me. |
.23 Truggy engine coming VERY SOON!!!

Thank you ED for your continuing support of the hobby even in a down economy :tire:
cant wait to run that new mill :nod::nod: Rodger |
086 Ofna pipe or A Nova 9886 which is better???

For last night's practice at the track, I ran an 8mm venturi for the first time. I had always ran a 6.5 RB venturi in my full mod since I got it. I ALWAYS made 10 min pits in buggy at every track. I assumed I was gonna get like 8-9 min run time last night. Instead, I came in at 10min 20sec for fuel the whole night:weird: The added power was amazing and Im not sure exactly how much my run time on this brutal-for-mpg style track was cut compared to the 6.5, but Ill test again. I had been getting around 11min 30 with the 6.5. Since it was practice and not racing, I am gonna try the 7.5 and see how solid 10 min pits are on a real race day at this track.:tire::tire:

Stock JS Engines
I think the Stock JS is very under rated. The JS engineers and myself worked very hard to get the Stock JS Racing engine to have a nice usable power curve with the best possible runtime. Port design on the case and sleeve, timing profiles in the crank and sleeve, and the case volume were just a few things we played with to dial the JS engine in. If you are interested in a $200 price range engine please don't over look the Stock JS.
I'm trying to get the Stock JS engines down to the $200 price range but it's the extra time that I put into each engine that cost more. What a lot of people don't know is that I inspect every stock engine I sell, along with adjusting the head clearance and testing and setting the carburetors up. It's not really a "Box Stock" engine as the head clearance is set conservative from the factory, along with the Carburetors. Stock engine: Full engine inspection Head Clearance set ( Number engraved on bottom of case by me represents the head clearance.) Carburetors flow tested and adjusted. Engines are then resealed in heat shrink, boxed up and then sealed with an EBMods box seal. |

Ok so I ordered one of these bad boys, I really hope it doesn't disappoint. To be honest the only engine I have loved thus far has been my 21-4C and it got sent out to be repinched after 6 gallons. SO hopefully I will really like this one and can go .21 and .23 from the same manufacture for the twins. So I plan on running the Race Prep in the truggy for the JBRL this weekend, hopefully I will be able to get another 1/2 gallon through it before then and some tuning done on it. I have a AE 2035 pipe, Dyn 086 and a Dyn 053 (which I plan to run on the buggy). I run OD97 plugs in my Nova and others as they have worked well so far.
So which pipe? and will that plug work with SoCal weather? |

so i got a full mod. was running rich first runs and was getting good power but was bummed with pushing to get 8 minutes out of a tank. so nice to just run and not worry about breakin. now 2 races in and properly tuned getting 13.5 on a tank and very decent power. about a gallon in and its coming to life. stoked :)

I had a great weekend with my JS motors at the Wiregrass Indoor Nationals. I finished 3rd in buggy and 10th in truggy out of 15 in the A-main. I got cought up in a 3rd turn traffic jam, and someones truggy hit the flywheel while I was upside down and killed the motor. I was a lap down when I got restarted and back on the track.
Buggy and truggy both had more than enough power for the track. I couldn't be happier with my motors after 3 1/2 gallons on my buggy and 2 1/2 on my truggy. I am running the full mods in both with the 086 pipe and p5 plugs and 30% EB Fuel. This setup as recommended is a potent combo with great power all the way through and good runtime. Run time depends on your trigger finger and the track of course. We had some monster car swallowing holes and some really soft sand at the track this weekend so a healthy dose of throttle was constantly needed to climb out of them. A big thanks to Ed and Joe for the support. Stephen |
Hi I got a full mod with about 2.5 gallons. I run P5 +086 +25% nitro, I am from Israel so its hot now (35 cellcious). the problem is that suddenly the engine is hard to start , it starts but quickly bogs, only after it gets hot it might stay but if I will not start to drive it will bog again. this is new to me. I tried a new plug but it remains. do you have a solution?

It was the second round of the 2010 Northeast Division Pro Series last weekend, held at Blue Diamond Race Park in New Castle, Delaware. JS Racing and EB Mods had a near perfect race weekend, claiming the top spots on both the Open and Pro classes. Truggy Open saw Pat Mahan and Max Nau enter into the A-Main. While Pat fell out early due to servo failure, Max was able to drive his truck to a dominant 2nd place finish. Pat Mahan then took home the Buggy Open A-Main win with complete confidence. In the Buggy and Truggy Pro Class, Chris Sytsma piloted his vehicles to a 2 win sweep, taking home 1st in both classes for JS Racing and EB Mods. Team Manager Joe Alessi was also able to battle his way into the Truggy A-Main 6th spot, with Travis McHenry taking the 7th spot. All 5 drivers used a combination of the JS Racing / EB Mods Race Prepped .21 Engine paired with EB Mods Fuel to clearly separate them from the rest of the racing field. Congratulations guys! We're VERY proud.

Are these ready to ship? When will the Full Mod .23 be ready? I love my .21 and the .23 should be more of a good thing.

Awesome news about the TQ in Truggy, sorry to hear about the rock. :( From the sounds of it you drove your Arse off to get that 1 lap back, that's tough to do with tight competition on a fast track like LCRC. Congrats also to Paul Snyder for the Buggy TQ and Win at LCRC, Paul uses the JS Racing engine with EBMods 30% Fuel. |
hey guys im picking up my js tommorow i have come from a alpha plus red head what differences can i expect and also i will be running the vp pro efra 3023 pipe has any one else ran this pipe thanks guys looking forward to this engine
