It was nice to finally meet you in person after talking to you on the phone. You did a great job this weekend.

Thanks for all your help.

Monty, I have an .821 B that you filled the crank for me a year or so ago. I know I am not supposed to use Hobbico After Run Oil because of the filled crank, but I am getting ready to store this motor until probably next summer (sold the truck that it was in) and I want to make sure it will be good to go. Can I use a few drops of Marvel Mystery Oil? What do you recommend when storing motors for a long period of time? Sorry if you've already been through this, but I could not find it.

Thanks, Mike

I use Byrons 30 percent nitro / 9 percent oil. A friend of mine did recommend using Marvel Mystery Oil as after run oil, but after seeing the above post I'm not sure what to do. Is any form of after run oil even needed or should I use those 3 things you recommended above? The engine's crank evidently has a silicon intake ramp if that matters.

Also, I'm planning to put a Buku cap on my engine, and they recommend taking the engine apart and cleaning it first so nothing remains trapped inside. Any advice for cleaning it? Can I just take it and the bearings apart and spray them down with bearing cleaner and reassemble?

thanks for any advice.

Monty,
I placed an order for an engine, when do you think you will get a chance to ship it?
Thanks for update...

Monty did you get to talk to any of the Mugen drivers about their truggy? Have you ever driven a Mugen truggy? IF so why do you like the Kyosho better? Tracks in Vietnam as you have seen have many tight corners, I figure that is why you suggested the Mugen to me, and after watching some old videos, I wonder why I did switch to Xray :D My only issue with the Xb9 is it always seems to push hard in the tight corners but man is it more stable with my heavy finger rather than the Mugen. When I ran the Mugen 6r I never could push it like I could the Losi and Xray. I like to push cars, my theory is that if you aren't taking a corner here and there on two wheels like the General Lee did then you ain't pushing it hard enough :D

Jeromerc, I wish I was open minded and carefree as you are about truggy brand's.( It is a good thing to keep an open mind about all manufacturers.) But im a Kyosho guy and I am willing to give you a little nudge. Maybe it will lean you towards a ST-RR. It's a great truggy. I hope you get to drive one, and kinda get a feel for the truggy. But also keep in mind, its set up for the owner. You will have to set the car up for you. In reality, there all good. All capable of winning. Good luck on choosing. And to keep on topic of the thread, You better put a H.E.S. engine in which ever truck you get. Monty Rock's!!!!
