A few of the bigger jumps on the track I can stop and do a VERY short run up and it clears them with ease, but unlike the OS Speed I don't break loose with it. There is only one thing I noticed today, I thought at first it was because I was still rich on the straight about 3/4 to 7/8 of the way down it makes a noise, not a lean bog noise but a weird noise, not loud I thought maybe it was just a bit rich but when we leaned it out later on it still did it a bit, not that worried about it unless you think I need to be, it is almost a gurgling type noise, like it is too rich. Never hot or anything and runs like a champ. Thanks for the great workmanship, I just wish I had got one sooner. :D What engine do you recommend for a truggy? The X7FM or the X5LFM? I also think there are a few people interested in Fusion today, if I do good in the race Tuesday I am sure more will be interested. Do you have the new competition heat or the original model? I have a guy that loves mine and wants me to order him one. Also how long do you usually run a glow plug before changing it? I usually put a new one in every race and then save my old ones for my play engines

Kinda hard to depict what is going on there Jerome

Maybe a good video of just your vehicle with some good audio

I have seen clogged/dirty pipes cause what youre describing but it usually involves flameouts also

not too sure that would cause a "gurgling" sound or wtvr it is perrotto

Throttle end point may not be set correctly. Take off air filter and make sure the carb slide is opening to the size of the Venturi/restrictor at full throttle.

I didn't get video yesterday and the noise is not loud, it might just be it is topping out, the sound is just different, and no one else noticed it. The pipe is new less than a gallon on it, hell it might have been drive train or clutch bell noise. It only does it at the end of the straight when she gets running good, it is where she flattens out. I called it a gurgling sound but I thought it was the best way to describe it but it is not loud, and kinda a mix. I guess I should say it makes a different noise when it tops out one that I am not used to but not a loud or disturbing noise, just a different noise one that none of the other guys noticed, when I can I will get video and when I hear it I will just let out of it. I don't think it is serious just different

Jeromerc: I have the X7FM in an onroad 8T 2.0 (that's right -- onroad!). I cannot recommend the engine more highly. It is an animal, yet easy to tune, predictable, and reliable (through 4 gallons so far). I have to go against electric jobs with two two-cell Lipo packs at 50C or more and 5000 mAh or more. The electrics will just get me on initial acceleration for maybe 0.5 second (we all use the Ipanema truck slicks -- a set of 4 weighs 1.25 kilograms!), but then the X7FM eats. I love the engine. I have received many comments about how hard the truck runs.
9853, 41021, Werks fuel, 7.0 mm insert, OD 97T or Orion #5 plugs.
And you CANNOT go wrong w/ Monty. He's been a great guy to deal with, and has offered some insights that really helped me out.
If you have the traction, X7FM all the way.

I think the noise was coming from the flywheel. When I took the engine off to replace bearings for the race tomorrow I noticed there was a bur on the flywheel and the clutch bell was stuck pretty tight. I put on my Mugen flywheel and the new shoes from the burred up flywheel, I warmed her up and ran figure 8's for a bit making sure it was up to about 200 then i gave it a good pull and no noise, so I set it on the box and gave it a blip and still no noise.

Monty,
what's your thoughts on the worlds blend of byrons? I have never been a big fan of low oil percentages. Do you think getting the worlds blend and adding castor to bring it up to 9 to 10% is safe? Just trying to find a balance of power and protection.

Jerome- Phew, i didnt really figure it was the engine but sh!t happens ya know

Nick - wc blend is a high castor fuel , awesome blend , not sure i recommend switching to it from other byrojuice blends but not a problem starting the engine running on wc blend from the beginning

X7 vs. Bonito

I've heard bits and pieces about this subject, and was hoping you could break down your views and give some details on the pros, cons, and differences between the X7 & Bonito. I'm interested in the X7 FM, and I love my P5 FM, but I don't want to jump into getting an engine without the details.

Basically, what I'm looking for is-

An engine that has too much power, but smooth enough to get it to the ground.
Gets 30 min run times
And lasts 20 gallons :D

X7FM ... got 1 outa three... LOL

I figured i had layed on the sarcasm thick enough that the second part wouldn't be taken seriously.
But I was serious about the first part. If could give a little insight to your opinion/review, it would be very much appreciated.

All im gonna say is i like the X7 , anything made by novarossi rocks

In case you might be thinking x7 is a rebranded engine of another make/model , u r wrong

X7 is something i came up with , its derived from a crono rs7 with some new updates and different intake timings and its awesome

Well well well, Monty we have a problem..... I only got 2nd not 1st :( Engine ran great, my pit guy sucked in my main, well actually he was pretty good, but I should have given him the fuel gun, because he squeezed the crap out of that fuel bottle when he was filling it up. Thank god I didn't have my new Buku shoes and clutch on! When I finished the main I took my car top off to clean it up and OMFG there was fuel everywhere! you would have swore there was one heck of a fuel leak. He kept pitting me at 6 minutes said there wasn't much fuel left so I am going to do some investigating to make sure there isn't a fuel leak. I did away with the after market filter and put new fuel line on before my main, tired of it tapping and marring up my 2096.

The engine ran great, it died one time in qualifying but I think the turn marshal had something to do with that since he tossed it on the top of a jump in the middle of my chassis. But it had consistent power all day long and was fun to drive. Ohh Monty I will send you a PM later tonight about a PM someone sent me, just want to keep you in the loop. Thanks again Monty, great engine and my wife is sold, no more engines anywhere but from you from now on, so if you ever quit selling you need to recommend for me a new supplier :D
