Actually street tune wasn't that far off. had to richen LSN less then 1 hour and lean HSN approx 1 hour. during practice, comming off of idle or coming out of a turn it just wasn't accelerating smoothly (sounded like a short lean bog or studder) so I fattened the LSN and it went away. Then the temps were about 230 so I leaned the HSN the 1 hour and I was set. I was looking at a couple other guys running Novas and their needles were much leaner then mine. My HSN is about 4 turns from closed (just in from flush) and my LSN is (i think) about 4.75 to 5 turns from closed (just in from flush too). But my motor has always wanted to be a little fatter on the bottom. It runs well with no flame outs and the temps are perfect and a light trail of smoke all through the rev range. The only motor I went head to head with and got pulled away from was a Speed i think. and I didn't get walked, just a little seperation down the straight, but he overshot the sweeper and I got my position back :D

I recently bought a nova plus 4 c with a 9901 and had Houston epoxy fill the crank. I'm having trouble with the motor flaming out on me.it seems like at night or when it's humid out it just randomly flames. I have been using the #6 nova plug. Would a #5 plug be better? Do I have an air leak? Or is there something I am missing with my tune? Motor runs great when it runs. Temps in the 230-250 range with good smoke and power. This is my first nova so I don't doubt that it could just be me but my buddy has the same motor and he runs his motor fat all the time and never touches his needles and has zero issues. I know it's not the car either as I ran a different motor on Monday with no issues.

try a different carb , have seen a few "weird" carb issues lately

if it turns out to be your carb , trust me i will be addressing the issue a lil more prominently with novarossi

Question for Monti. Have a nova n21bf and it does well for what it is. At 2 gallons, would it even be worth it to send it in for the basic "Houston tune" Even though it is their entry level motor, I assume Nova wouldn't want even THAT to tarnish their rep by building to much of a turd as far as longevity.

Get a bigger hammer!

Seriously though , yes there are some improvements that can be made but i would just run it if i were u

The n21bf limited and n21r limited were jims baby's , notice they dont have them anymore ? ;)

We now offer similar engines but upgraded in the fusion x line

And I'm cool with that, Lets face it....When I bought it they were like 139.00 of something, I had a 25 off coupon and free delivery. So , fun factor included, I've got my money's worth already, the rest is just gravy..... I am gonna put a 2013 pipe on it to get a little more punch out of it maybe... For what I spent, it pushes the old 8T around good in practice, working on my lines.

Monty in another thread you said you don't think pro's are running modded engines. Do you think that a hand fitted engine will make that much extra power then? I was at the Singapore Open Invitational and I met a pro RB driver that had the exact same set up as I did, when my pro driver friend was setting up my car he was testing it, normally he is 1.3 seconds or so faster than the RB driver, but with my car after he got it set up it was clearly much slower than his car, this guy even came over and helped with my set up getting it ready for the race and the setups were identical, the only difference between his car and mine literally was the servo's and battery, he bought tires the same store as I did pre treated, same springs, same everything. When I was on the track it was like murder, at least when Barry was driving my car he was only down a second or so per lap. Barry like you also said Novarossi engines are sealed for the same reason along with they don't want to risk a competitor getting ahold of their engines and seeing what is inside of them.

So the question is if they are that much better, is there any way we could get our hands on fitted fusion engines?

Thats pretty much what we as engine builders do , i save out the "special" engines that are perfect fit engines out for special customers/friends ;)
