if it turns out to be your carb , trust me i will be addressing the issue a lil more prominently with novarossi

Please suggest a carb. Same carb just another one? I'm having flame out issues too. I've gone through 6 plugs in 1.25 gallons, but I think 2 are still good.

let me say this , if you are going through good quality plugs within lets say 1/4 gallon for c6tgc , a lil less for c5tgc or about 8 tanks on odonnell 97t then your tune is pretty far off usually

i also wouldnt suggest trying to have a contest to see who can run their plug the longest cuz the filament will break and go through engine sooner or later , guess what , engines dont usually survive that without some sort of malfunction

rule of thumb , change plug every 1500-2000cc of fuel , very safe if your tune is close to right and you will have a very easy time tuning with a fresh plug , much less chance of the fire going out also

24063 , 24069 or any nova or OS carb that you know tunes great on another engine

What Novarossi carb do you personally think is the best the 63 or 69? Which do you think is the easiest to tune? Also what are the prices of these carbs new?

That's alot of plugs and if they are Novas thats a lot of $$. How much fuel is through the motor? How is the engine running? I've tossed perfectly good plugs because they were reaching the 3/4 to one gallon mark. But 6 in a little over a gallon...somethings off with your tune. air leak maybe? how is the idle? Fuel tank and lines new?

Monty I have a friend that picked up a p5 full monty from you and he is running it in a Losi 8t 2.0. I was wondering what Losi clutch setup you would recomend for that motor? All aluminum shoes with 2 gold spring and 2 green springs?

All alu. Wears and galls pretty quickly but works well on the track

I preferred two blue alu. W/gold And two carbon w/ green on the stock losi clutch

The buku shoes r awesome but i noticed u should use the losi clutch bell the protek bell has a smaller i.d. , didnt work so well as the shoes are a touch bigger

nick64merc 09-07-2012 10:59 AM

Thanks Monty we will give that a try.

As for the plug issue-
I was going through the break in process and after about 1/2 gal one plug was only glowing 1/2 filament. After 1 gal I had 2 plugs go out back to back and car was still running a bit rich due to nuts not yet dropped. After nut droppage I had a few flame outs but plug was still good, I replaced it anyway to b on the safe side. Since the I've gone through another qt and looking good. All plugs were c6tgc and filaments were intact and not burnt.

Sounds like either out of whack tune or a couple of funky glow plugs
