The only con between those two engines would probably be that the plus 4btt has less top end than the x7xtr, BUT I have not ran the new plus 4. I have the plus4c and it was a GREAT mill for about 12 gallons with one resize. And the x7 might wear out a little faster because of the high rpm but it is the fastest, most fuel efficient engine I have come across......if it was my decision I would say x7xtr for buggy and or truggy.

Monty,
Sup man? Finally got out to burn some nitro this past weekend and that XLT is still rocking. Did run into a small tuning issue that I almost called you for some help on, but got it sorted out. Was running down near sea level and was still getting 10 minute pit stops with a 8mm carb restrictor in there. Very happy with that, though i couldn't make use of the smaller munber of pit stops in the main. Some of those kids are way faster than I was, but I did beat two of the guys from here that went down there with me. LOL
I did get to see a few of the X7's run. Man I know why you like those mills. Really made me want to get one. LOL. I'll have to work on getting one for next year. Maybe at the Nitro challenge if I can swing it. Anyway thought I drop in and let you know I'm still alive and haven't given up on the nitro. Though running some elec. was a good change of pace. Still love the nitro more.
