More ?'s :)

More questions on the engine heater. I got the break-in part. Im trying to get a better understanding of the usage of the comp heater at the track? How do you guys typically use them? For the ones who has the AC comp heater, do u guys warm the head prior to your race. maybe 5mins before you race, u take the comp heater off? Or for those whom have the DC 12v comp heater, do u guys have like a 3s lipo pack on your starter and have the comp heat on the head until your race starts? trying to figure out what's more usage, DC vs AC...

thx

I have the ac 110 version and love it. I leave mine plugged in between heats sometimes 1/2 to an hour at a time, keeps the chassis and engine heatsoaked for the next race.Makes the race tune pretty much set to go,Dont have to make practice runs to get the car warmed up and much better on the engine and starter box. I wont even start my motor's with out it anymore.:nod:

what about the duration between leaving your pits and waiting for your race. that's a good 5 to 7 mins not having the heater on. Is there a concern for that?

teeforb 02-23-2011 11:29 AM

how many amps required for the 12v heater?

teeforb 02-23-2011 11:38 AM

can i use one of these for a power supply?

I left mine on for an hour at a time ,never had a issue, Just dont EVER leave the heater plugged in without being on the motor. Or the heater will get to hot. Even if its 100 degree's outside i still use it.:nod:

I think he was talking about unplugging the unit then going up to the pre staging

Tip: keep the engine running ;)
