buggy engine

Monty,
Will the new X7 be more of a bug engine or trug. Let us know what you think. My buddy and I have been talking about having a couple Monty'd 21-4's for our buggys done in the next month or so.
Oh, All worked out well with the 21-7 fms today. Piston and sleeve looks great. I lucked out, when I pulled the 97t yesterday the fillament was barely hanging on. I disassemled it today, all looked good. Reinstalled it in the truggy today with a new c5tg nova plug and all was well. Monty I leaned the LSN almost a 1/4 turn and the HSN about 2 hrs. I new I was running rich but wanted to make sure I had plenty of fuel for the first 1/2 to 3/4 gallons and man this thing has power from top to bottom for a .21. My temps are now running around 235-240. Are these temps still in the safe for this engine. I still have a little smoke from bottom through the mid.

Wow 270 deg., after running GRP engines at 180 - 195 DEG. 270 just seems scary!
Monty, I would like to thank you for all your responces to my questions, the great engines you have provided my buddy and I with and the concerns with my current engine issue's.
Thank you, I look forward to seeing you at Harrisburg, Medford or Bend for the Oregon Series.

Any update on the 5 port?

These aren't grp engines;) do not let the engine lean bog, if it ever starts, richen it up immediately ! Tune for performance first and foremost!!

Just lmk when you need whatever you need Sean:D

Yep, I believe I have around 15-20?

I go through alot of 17011's ;) they are one of the upgrades in the P5XLT's

sdphilips 02-06-2011 10:07 AM

Monty,

Ok, i need advice. I have several NovaRossi engines (although the one i don't have is your favorite  ), and would like your opinion on which one to put in my RC8B. I have the following:

FMS
N21R
Plus 4
Plus 21 5k

Thoughts?

Scott

plus 4 for sure!

It also depends on what shape its in

sdphilips 02-06-2011 10:28 AM

Plus 4 has a brand new P/S/R and bearings. Once it warms up around here, i will have to break it in.

Thanks!

Scott

Actually isn't the rc8b heavy? Maybe the fms ;)

sdphilips 02-06-2011 10:41 AM

Heavy compared to ? me? nope, it is lighter than me! I have a FMS in my SC8, it rips!

I will try the Plus 4 and the FMS and see which i like better.

How do those two engines compare?

Thanks again,

Scott
