where did you get the WS9 from????
id love to get my hands on one of them:nod:

JPMSRacing 04-09-2009 04:39 AM

I am still looking for a pipe for my C6, the 2045 RB pipe in the buggy class doesnt pass the RC Pro Series stinger size, the stinger is to big, their little gauge thing that is suppose to not fit into the exhaust hole just slides in.

Savoya is running the 2045 with the 192 header, I just saw him in Vegas this last weekend at the Silverstate race, and I looked at his buggy.

Got it here ONLY 1 LEFT NOW

Not bad price seeing as the ws73 is 239.99.

A WS9 for $442 + shipping? That's more expensive than an OS Speed II

adz06 04-09-2009 09:15 AM

Thats the UK for you mate, over here os speed 2 is over £300+

Key 04-09-2009 10:36 AM

You are not limited to buying from one country/location. The current prices listed for the RB WS9 is outrageous. The Speed II is no where near that.

RJNicholson 04-09-2009 11:06 AM

BMI Hobbies in Plano, Tx just signed up to be a distributor for RB.

They only have one US source that importing from France and it just happens to be located in Texas now.

BMI was told that the WS9 and B9 should be avaliable to them in about 2 weeks. They are waiting on the product catalog then they will be placing orders for the new Line of RB.

So in about 2 weeks we should have real prices on these engines and they will be in the US so shipping will go down..

Look them up online and get there number to call and check status or check there online store they have.

I won't post the link, so I am not advertising, but you can google BMI Hobbies and find them, or PM me for more info about them.

buggydad 04-09-2009 04:17 PM

Ya knew they were out but not seemingly in the states as of right now(trickles).Even the USA spec i can only find from a place in canada:rolleyes::deathstar.

Hey guys i have aS7 and a WS7-III and would like to know how maney shims to run 20%? I took the heads off and they have 1 shim on each is this right for 20% the guy i got them from said he ran 30% but i was thinking you need 2 shims for 30%.

I am not. With the added customs price tag the RB comes up much higher. Price-wise I would stick to an O.S.

blktransam 04-11-2009 09:52 AM

I thought this was the RB thread not the O.S thread?^^^^^^.........

Add 0.1mm shim to the engine.

Just make sure you know, shims aren't all 0.1mm.
Stock the engine should have two shims;

1) 0.2mm
1) 0.1mm

that gets you a total of 0.3, you need one more 0.1 for 30 percent(0.4mm). You could also use two 0.2mm shims if you wanted, to only have to bother with a total of 2 shims.

EDIT: if you want to run 20 percent, use 0.3mm in shims total (probably the two the engine came with....although i'd still check)
if you want to run 30 percent, use 0.4mm in shims total

I was told also about two weeks on the 9 series. I will be trying out the five port (RB "Hobby" 9) when they become available. Prices are not bad, you pay for quality!

Thats sucks, thats what my setup is. Did they let you run?? What pipe did you run, or what pipe is everyone running besides the 2045.

I put on a JP3, but it was legal in the truggy class:confused:, I just posted that because we had problems in the past with the stinger size on our buggies. It would suck to drive a several hours to race and then not have a legal pipe. We are looking into a bushing or someway to crimp the end of the stinger this year. As long as their gauge doesnt fit in the end its legal, thats what we where told.

RB ENGINE

I just got an S3 and I really love it.I am new too the nitro scene. How many gallons before it's junk?

castirontom 04-12-2009 07:03 PM

I have a S3 and gots to say it is a great engine its on a o53 pipe and i keep her around 230 on 30 percent o'donnels and man she screems. I wanted to do a os v spec (blue head) but this motor runs with them all day long and it gets better fuel economy. "Very Happy" to own it.

romax 04-12-2009 09:09 PM

Does anyone know if i can put the crank , rod piston & sleeve from a s5 in my c6 ? The reason i ask is my c6 needs crank & rod but a guy at the track will make me a deal on the s5 parts so it would be much cheaper to fix. i know it won't have as much power but it would just be a back up engine. thanks

You can't use the S5 crank in the C6, the S5 crank is 13mm, the C6 is 14mm, this is based on main bearing inside diameter. The rods are all the same, on all the RB .21 engines.

Depending on your track size, the 053 will give you lots of bottom end, and will top out real fast, might be okay for a small track, the 086 pipe would be a better choice all the way around, IMO.

thanks for reply....yeh the track is medium size I would say. I might give that 086 pipe a try, havn't had chance to run my WS7 yet:(

Got a few questions about RB ws7ll

- do i need to remove the standard plug shim? bec i find that if i use the plug with the shim, the bottom of the plug cannot sit nicely into the button.

- is there people using 16% for off-road engine? how many shim do i need to shim for this engine if im running 16% and 25%?

Thanks! As this is my first time dealing with off-road engine.

If you're talking about the glowplug shim then you leave that in. If it isn't sitting right check that you don't accidentally have two shims there, then check your threads out.

As far as nitro if you're running 25 percent and lower you can run the head/button shims stock at 0.3mm. If your engine has 0.4mm (from the last owner) it would be set up for 30 percent and you could remove 0.1mm of shims to run the lesser nitro fuels that you want to use.

are you sure you have the right kind of plug? RBs take a "long" body plug. There are also "short" body plugs commen to O.S. engines. sounds like you have one of those.

for head shims, In your case start with .3 mm thats what rb recommends the is the minimum for that nitro content. start with a #6 plug, and go colder (#7 or #8) if your idle will let you get away with it.

Bearing size

hi guys,
what're the front and rear bearing sizes for the WS7II? the manual didn't state the sizes...

i assume that all WS7 share the same bearing sizes? or all RB .21 offroad engines have the same sizes? :D

Here is a link to amainhobbies.com, for the rear bearing for the WS7 III, and most of the RB engines. The front bearings are all the same size. The C5 and C6 main bearings are a different size. RB Concept 13x25mm Rear Bearing for Square Stroke (E/S5/S7II/WS7II) Engines

great! thanks... ;) new bearings for my ws7ii.

by the way, if i'm using 16%nitro, do i need to remove the 0.1mm shim?
doesn't anyone use 16% for their .21 engines?

What's Up with the RB Concepts Engine Forum?

The link I have for the forum now seems to be dead. Couldn't find a working link for it in a Google search either (just more dead links). First the stopped taking new registrants, then... :weird:

Sorry if this has been adressed recently here. I'm having problems with my internet connection, so searching is sketchy at best... :(
