PinoyCali, from what I have seen. The C6 would be a great for a truggy. I do not know what pipes people are using.

Eccentric 02-17-2009 11:48 AM

Get some Associated Green Slime O-ring grease and lube the o-rings up with that. Works great for shock o-rings too (that's what it's intended for). :D

Shooky 02-17-2009 11:58 AM

I have tried Slime on carb needles and found that the needles liked to turn due to the vibration. Maybe it just happened to me.

Stuff did its job too well I guess. Maybe just use a tiny amount. It's worked for me...

BIG RE 02-22-2009 12:59 PM

what do you guys have as far as needle setting on a ws7III with %30byrons and a hot plug? I went to go buy a new #6 meduim plug for a race this last weekend, and the shop didn't have any so I got a mccoy59, I could not get the damn thing to run, and ended up getting frustrated and messing up my settings trying to figure it out.

Only thing i've hurd bad bout the RB S5's...are that they dont last all that long...and of course this is based upon HOW u drive it also...but thats bout the only negative thing...unless someone can prove me wrong? i was thinkin bout gettin the S5 for my Losi 8T....but dunno if it will last long enough..any input would help!!! thnx.

rallyebmx 02-25-2009 09:53 PM

I've got a brand new in box RB Concept C6-BBT II L2G that I'd be willing to sell for $380 shipped if someone wants to jump on it before it goes to Ebay......;)

mfrosty 02-26-2009 06:29 AM

Quick question, can I use an MC9 plug with my C6BBT?

I just found this thread, I just bought another C6 this morning, it sucks to be slow, it will be another month before I can fork out for another engine, I wouldnt trade that C6 for nothing, all the tracks in the state for the most part are tight and the bottom end of the C6 you can just hug the pipe at almost a stop and blip the throttle and your over the next big jump. That engine dropped me 4 sec a lap at my local track from the V-Spec I was running.

S5 is a strong engine with a good amount of top w/ 2045 192 set-up.
After one gallon put new front bearing and rod and you will be happy. I run it in a buggy at nitro challenge and it would easily keep up with just about everything except my C6:lol:

You can use any turbo plug in the C6, the MC9, I think is a cold plug, depending on where you are, ( cold country and cold plug don't do well) unless you just need that challenge, the RB 6 turbo plug works well.

Mine uses a std plug. It's the old head not the L2G. Plug definately has the copper washer on it.

If your in Baltimore, and the weather as cold as it is, it's best to go with a hotter plug, the MC59 will be okay, it's hotter than the MC9, and the RB 6, you could even use an RB 4, it's just a lot easier to run with the hotter plug in the colder weather.

TXRC8racer 03-03-2009 06:35 AM

I own a RB S7 standard plug which I use a RB#6 plug in and im using the same plug that it was broke in on and I have been thru 1 1/2 gallons so far and can not complain at all and not changer a plug!! I have had people tell me that motor screams im also using a JP3 pipe. And im getting 8 1/2-9min on a tank and temps running 220 or so, and this is not a modded motor either!! But the one thing I will say that my LHS can not get parts for them or at least plugs, I know the RB#6 plug at amainhobbies.com have been on back order along with alot of other hobby shops and the only place i have found them was towerhobbies.com.

I don't think I will own a diffrent motor for a while, But i have been looking on Ebay for a turbo head for tunnning reasons I have heard they are a little eiser to tune...

mfrosty 03-03-2009 07:12 AM

Thanks!

What are some good pipe choices for the original C6? I have a 2045 right now, are there any others? my home track is a big one, lotsa room for an engine and pipe to stretch it's legs.

wallot 03-03-2009 07:18 AM

RB Tuned pipe Truggy THG02 aka La Bomba works very well with C6 or just stick with 2045 or 2020

If your using the 192 header, that combo is the best your gonna get, how much more do you need? that motor is insane as it is?

mfrosty 03-03-2009 07:22 AM

What range is the 2045 pipe? How about the 2020? Do either of the Dynamite pipes work well with these? Which is better for fuel economy?

The 2045 pipe is very linear, I think it's the best for the RB engines, the 2020 is a bottom end pipe, if using the RB header, the 192 is good for mid to top end, best for big track, the 198 header is mainly for more bottom end, best for short tracks, the Dynamite pipes are okay, the best Dynamite pipe for the RB's is the 086 pipe, overall, IMO, I think the best economy will be from the RB pipes.

I've got the 192 header, think I'll just pick up the 198 for when I'm running at tighter tracks. Sure beats buying a different pipe all together :D

JPMSRacing 03-03-2009 07:30 AM

I tried some different pipes for top end on my C6 and you can really tell the difference, but my lap times are always faster with a little less top end and a whole lot more bottom running a JP3 pipe. But the style of driving I think has a lot to do with it to, some run big open turns wide, sorta relaxed mono speed with little brakes, I run aggressive pipe to pipe on the corners the shortest way around the track and use lots of brakes with lots of speed changes.

Does anyone know the size of the rear bearing i know its a 13x25 but thats it. Is it 13x25x6? Thanks Speedy

Also, I posted this on the other RB thread in Onroad Nitro Engines but not sure where I would get better responses.. so I'll ask here too:

I pulled up the manuals on rb's website. The only difference between the WS7 and the WS9 is the head, I guess they keep making them lighter?

That's one thing I noticed RB doesn't really make a lot of drastic changes and now that Rody left RB I wonder if we will just get small things like this. Oh well not a problem I have WS7 L2G and really like it.

Skunk 03-12-2009 06:09 PM

I have found that the O'Donnell 97t is the best plug for my WS7III L2G or C6 L2G. I also ran the 2045 pipe with short header on the C6.

Eccentric 03-13-2009 09:41 AM

Has anyone ran the RB 2020 pipe in a truggy? If so, which engine did you use it with, and what kind of fuel usage and powerband did you get?

The 2020 pipe is awesome in truggy!!! I always run a 2020 with a 198 header in truggy to get every last bit of bottom end out of a C6. The other thing I really like about the 2020 pipe in truggy is that the stinger is soo short you can set it in the truck so the stinger does not stick out of the body at all. This is good for when marshals decide to grab your truck by the sides... it won't kill the engine.

Good to hear. Thanks for the info. I am thinking about using this pipe with a C6 BBT in my truggy.

Hey all, A friend of mine gave me a couple of rb motors, 1 is the CE motor and the other is a CS motor, Can somebody tell me what the diff is between them, he also gave me a new P,S,C for the CS model will it work in the CE.
Thanks in advance
Jim

Eccentric 03-14-2009 10:18 AM

OK am I the only one who's iritated by the new RB engine naming system???

It's DUMB to use '9' for ALL their engines, no matter the size (.12 through .28) or port count (except for the TM523 Revo engines which didn't get stuck with the new name scheme).

I can understand the WS9 being the latest version of the WS7, but the rest is stupid. 'Hobby9', 'Junior9', 'Circuit9', 'Buggy9', 'Series9', 'Racing Truggy9, 'Monster Truck9', etc..........

What was wrong with C6, WS7, S3, S5, S7, TM728, and TM928??? Makes it harder to know what yer lookin' at.

OK.....Rant done.

I just bought the c6 usa, has anyone tried one? What pipe should i try?

Setup Question

I have a RB s7 L2G running it in a 8T, what is a good clutch setup and pipe?

Speedyrob 03-14-2009 09:55 PM

RB C6

The C6 is a great motor i would run a JP4 if u want good power and about 10min on a 7mm carb restictor. If u lookin for something more Smoother and not so mich bottom i would go with the RB 2045;). Great all around pipe combos love it around 4 gallons i replaced the front and rear bearings for ceamics and the motor has more bottom now then before:eek:.

I would start with the stock clutch and an 053 or jp3 pipe. The pipe is really going to be determined by your driving style, the track(s) you run. Do you like smooth power or hard hitting? Are you easy on the trigger or more like a light switch? All that plays into pipe and clutch.

As far as the power I'd say hard hitting, but I am easy on the trigger right now I am using a losi 4 shoe with 2 comp and 2 alum with silver and gold springs. My driving style is some what smooth still working on that.

clinttredway 03-15-2009 04:26 PM

to get more hard hitting goto an all aluminum clutch with heavier springs. The jp3 will give you more power but less run time. an 053 may work as well. As for the pipe, I would just try different ones until I found one I like
