So which crank does it have then, is it the Nova Bonito crank?
exploded view says it's a 14.5mm

Dunno for sure. All I know is that the rod has a nova logo on it and the pin is 4.9. My 15 and old 11 both have RB logos on the rod and 5 mil pins.

here is a short vid of buggy with V15. It's a tooth lower on CB than normal (16 instead of 17).

Also, on this 15, a problem I have never had before, if I run it completely out of fuel, the carb heat soaks and vapor locks. If you guys don't know what that is, it's when the carb slide becomes so hot that the fuel vaporizes as soon as it touches it and you get a no start condition. My old Losi engines did this, but they had all aluminum carbs. Engine temp is 235-245, nothing else out of the ordinary...

I guess the same thing could happen if I shut it down then tried to start it after about 15 seconds.... I don't think running it out of fuel really is the cause. I just don't remember ever having the problem before, struggling to restart after a flame out for whatever reason.

A tooth down in buggy? Doesn't sound promising for truggy(the V15 that is..)

So whats the verdict on the super long stroke bxr

BillyT. 09-05-2014 09:34 AM

It runs with a P5 like this down that straight. Would pull with the 17. Takes the whole length of the straight for a Picco 5tx team to get around it, on that same straight, with the 16.

I'm not sure it's any faster than the 19, but the 19 feels fine in the truck to me.

V20 with pipe is 255 at Amain... thinking about it... Also thinking about going Bullet... But these engines have a ton of life left in them.

Neal from Clockwork says it's their strongest .21 for truggy. That's modified however. I'm sure it's stout in stock form. Check out the clockwork thread and search for RB truggy video.

Ive had our local driver try all of the new range BXR engines in STD form and we run and I supply the SLS3 without ceramic as RB supply the engine or I install before shipping as an option. The SLS5 and di5 didn't give an improved runtime and the low end was not as good as the SLS 3.All engines were run and tested using 2097 pipe with med header.Hope this helps LS5 gives very good results as well .

Hi,

just bought two used BXR (1 gallon) from team RB with a friend. One is a SLS3 and the other a SLS DI5

What would be the differences on a track?

thanks!

Fire 11

Hi, I have a fire 11 but it was damaged when putting in new rod so now I need to put a new piston and sleeve (the rest is ok). I can't seem to find a matching piston/sleeve combo. Does anyone know where I can get one and also if I can't find the exact match, what else could I use?

Thanks.

The obvious thing is to say try both but run them on the 2097 with med header not the long one as supplied in the combo's.

We run the SLS3 with probably med distance tracks (40-45 sec) and milage is critical and the 3 gives better milage and more low down punch.Only thing is the 3 runs without ceramic as STD.

It will be good to hear which you prefer.

RB Rocket to replace the Blast line...

http://www.redrc.net/2014/09/rb-rock...ne/#more-86084

So is that basically a Blast V20/Rally, or closer to a BXR?
